Most of the player's faces look completely wrong. But I can live with that if they fixed the animations and also fixed the shots and free throws as well as fix the CPU's ability to score every possession in the post.Comment

My point is that there's hyperbole galore about how bad it looks. It's not the worst thing we've ever seen. Some of the comments we've seen in this very forum have read as if watching the game in action is worse than having acid poured into your eyes.
Even though I started this thread, I wouldn't go as far as to call the game beautiful Whoever described the faces as clay is dead on. Some of them are really rough.
...And what's wrong with fat girls?

I can at players move stiff and the graphics need to come up to par with nex gen.
As with 24th's comment some people are calling the graphics great too which is an exaggeration.
Looking at some of those players faces like westbrook is awful though in those screen shots online.

The graphics in this game is beautiful! The colors pop, the hoop is amazing, the net makes me wanna go out side and hoop.
The graphic style in this game is perfekt for me. I'm tired of the hyper realism approach every devs have now a days. Make it unique damnit!
I won't remember 2k graphics or any game with realistic graphics in 5 years, but the style Live is going for I'll def remember.

Anyone who says this looks like a PS2 game is being ridiculous and shoukdnt be taken seriously..., however, I dont disagree that it could pass for a PS3 game...

Graphically it's far behind most AAA games considering this is pc hardware so I could understand a ps2 comment however I think the backlash is mostly because it's typical EA and truthfully to pay 500 for a new system and then claim it's okay not to use it makes no sense.
Ps3 is what it looks like and they need to step it up because it'll look even worse if they survive another 3 years

Live 13 looks better than Live 14 in terms of graphics, at least to me. See lebron james for example. Dude looks like lebron(probably mocapped cause he was the coverboy) in 13 but in 14, he looks no where like lebron. For at least a 400 dollar investment, then the graphics would have to be better than mediocre. Launch console gamers shop for specific titles. There are not alot of aa titles out there, only niche for the most part. so if you're dropping hundreds of dollars on a niche thing, you expect it to look great, not ok.#dairyfreeComment

Re: Graphically, the game doesn't look as bad as people say.
Live 14 does not look like a 360 game to me at all. The lighting, the court textures, these aren't things that could be done last Gen. The player models didn't make quite the leap, maybe wii U level. Live 13 had nowhere near the detail in textures.
I think the main things that you could not do last Gen have yet to be utilized. The nightly updating and daily changes are not happening yet two months into release.

Re: Graphically, the game doesn't look as bad as people say.
Honestly, look at everything outside of the players on the court. That means from start to finish everything except the 10 players and ball. Live might be a bit better. I can go with calling them even. But to act like the only thing that is happening is the way the players look is dishonest. And if we want the best game period we have to be critical yet fair. It is fair to say the players are a few steps behind 2k. It is fair to say with only focusing on next generation we expected them to come out better than they did. It would also be fair to say that the presentation and integration while not prefect is even or better than 2k. And I'm only speaking on the visuals of the each game. With all of that said i own and play both games regularly.

I dont think the graphics are bad, the problem is with the players being so small and skinny it makes it looks worse than it is. When you zoom in and get close up on the players it looks decent. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Graphically, the game doesn't look as bad as people say.
I disagree with that ratedmoney. I'd 10-1 rather have Live's player models over the competitions. I feel body proportions (for the most part) are much better represented here. They have the length that nba players have. I can not stand the "stocky" look.
In 2k in the past for PC, I'd always download Lagoa's body edits, etc to make the legs and arms more lean. Other than looking so "ripped", Live has their shapes down really well. Of course, everyone see's things differently.Twitter - WTF_OS
