Now that the second big patch has arrived...

Is this game worth the $60 price tag? It looks like (from recent pics and vids) that it has improved a lot over initial release.
I had 2k14 for a bit, and it was nice looking but i couldnt get past the all the VC and server issues. Losing file after file got old. And all i want to do is run an Association or Franchise, Offline.
Should i just wait for Live or 2k15, or has live 14 with the patches changed enough that i wont feel like i gave away 60 bucks?

Honestly If I were you I would just wait for Live 15 or 2k15 to come out this October. If you want to get Live 14, wait till there is a sale or price drop because you will be upset with yourself if you shell out $60 for this game. The update provided lighting changes that kind of has the players looking washed out a little. It also provided a practice gym that should have been included in the game from the get go. A.I logic was untouched, online lag was untouched, and animations seem a little improved but are still outdated. The game looks and feels outdated so wait until there is a sale or price drop if you really want to try out this game.

i would say try to find it on sale. i got mine from amazon for like $37 and im happy with it. there are a lot of rough edges still but for the most part it plays a solid game of basketball.

some issues you wont see very often like players getting stuck in the post (i have only seen it once although some people say it happens all the time). but there are some issues that happen every game like the cpu not calling timeouts throughout the game. they will call timeouts in crunch time but never in the first three quarters. they have definitely improved defense in the paint but the cpu still attacks the post far too often (i can hold the cpu to 40-50% from the field but 60%+ of their points still come in the paint).

there is a lot of give and take with the game and its on the right track. you just have to kind of ask yourself what may or may not be worth dealing with. if they could adjust how often the cpu goes into the post i would say yes definitely buy it (based solely on my own experience with the game). when they run plays properly its very fun.

I would read the second half of the impressions thread and the patch thread, probably your best bet,..

Don't pay 60 for it, it was never worth that imo. Just pick it up used or on sale somewhere.

Are people really not finding this game dirt cheap now? Found it for 30 a few days after release lol. Google is your friend.
