New to NBA Live PC, got some questions

Well I've recently upgraded my computer and bought NBA Live 2004 to take advantage of the various patches for players, courts, etc... I have been on nbalive.org and nba-live.com to get these patches but I am confused on how to get them to work in the game. For example, these sites have many player updates, some are better than others, and I want to pick particular ones for different players and teams. Number 1: How do I get them on there? Number 2: What/Where is custom art enable? Number 3: Can I play with the updates online? This is the first time I've ever had a computer capable to play games so I am a complete novice/newbie to this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to go to www.sportplanet.com/nbalive, click on NBA Live 2004 and download the Custom Art switcher---this way, with the click of the button, you can enable/disable custom art. Some patches require it to be on, some off. You need to read the readme.file for each patch. Nonetheless, to get your patches to work, you need to download them to your C:/Program Files/EA Sports/NBA Live 2004 main folder (they usually download as ZIP files). You "unzip" them to the folder above, and then click on the .bat file (usually included in the zip....for exaple, if you dowload a LeBron patch, it would be a purplish/bluish looking square named LeBronpatch or something like that). and simply click, and it will install it for you. Don't know much about the online, I don't play online. Hope this helps.

The only patch sites I visit are nbalive.org and the one above.

sometimes it does that to me but I just refresh the page then it works.
