Re: NBA Live 2005 Preview at IGN

NBA Live 2004 Gameplay >> ESPN Basketball.

And who ever thinks the opposite needs to lay off the good stuff.

The stutterting evident in NBA LIve 2004 was excusable since it was the first game in it's generation (new gameplay, graphics engine etc..)

I hope they fix it this year. Or else I'll be very dissapointed.

I for one, can't wait to see what NBA Live 2005 has to offer. Sega Sports lost me as a customer last year with ESPN Basketball. The A.I. was... well pathetic. Instead of taking a step forward they took 2 steps back.

did anyone play espn 2k4 on the x-box--the graphics during gameplay sucked, although the graphics on replays were better. Let's not forget that the gameplay was horrid. It's the same people every year that come here and bash anything EA. But they can't look at there own game--quite funny. You know who you are too.

I remember reading last year, how all these people were freaking out over an early live 2004 video--but all the talk came down a level when the games finally came out and there beloved ESPN 2k4 game actually sucked.

It's the same damn posters too, do the research--you'll see the same damn people in this thread last year bashing anything Live related, even before the game came out.

It's funny because they claim, they are not bashing but simply stating fact--but we all can read the tone and btwn the lines.

Almost all posts here have nothing to do with gameplay. We're not arguing that point right now.

It's simple, the pics shown of Live are not real. Not by a long shot. And whoever said last years early renders are the exact graphics of the pc version is wrong. The models and polys are different, much more detailed and the textures (before patched) are much different. Sheesh, use your eyes.

And while I still have doubts over some graphics in ESPN 2K4 (due to replays showing guys with different headbands than they have on court real-time etc) the real gameplay graphics are what we all see in the pucs. Get a big tv, a HD one if possible and face your guy at the screen. You can see the facial detail exactly as these so called 'fake' and 'high quality' screenshots are showing. You can also see the body models and also the shorts and jerseys moving real time in the gameplay views. Sure the camera's sucked and they probably were trying to hide something (possibly only potential frame rate problems) but stop trying to convince yourself they are fake.

Oh and finally on to the gameplay aspect...I give EA credit and eat humble pie for what they did last year. I still found faults which stopped me playing it that much (and ended up buying ID and ESPN College) but it was a good game, a huge improvement and a million times better than ESPN. But they get no credit whatsoever for the visual aspect. They have doll faced cartoon characters, with blurry low detailed textures and resolution, who slide all over the place at about 20 frames a second.

There is one thing that i am not sure. Anyone who had seen 10 MEN FREESTYLE video on Live site knows that EA had done tons of animations, but most of them aren't in live 2004, you can only see some of them in the cut scenes. I hope EA can use those animations in 2005 cuz they look so real..

the fact is this, when ESPN posts pics, they look almost as good as they do in the game, when EA posts pics, they don't look anything like they do in the game...............explain it or justify it however u want, but thats the fact right there.....

now who knows if EA is goin to finally make good graphics, but the pics that IGN posted is not how the game will look....PERIOD!!

this isn't even about if espn has better graphics, it seems when i say those pics won't look like that in the game, ya'll get offended and start bashin on ESPN.....okay, since this is a LIVE board, lets talk live.....those graphics won't be in the game...quote me on it.....i know some of u live fans know that....but some don't.....

while we're still talkin about Live.....i actually might get both games next time because live is sounding pretty good, the graphics and the quick dribblin is wat turned me off Live 2004.....i mean, my gosh....who dribbles taht fast??

Re: NBA Live 2005 Preview at IGN

the fact is this, when ESPN posts pics, they look almost as good as they do in the game, when EA posts pics, they don't look anything like they do in the game...............explain it or justify it however u want, but thats the fact right there.....

now who knows if EA is goin to finally make good graphics, but the pics that IGN posted is not how the game will look....PERIOD!!

this isn't even about if espn has better graphics, it seems when i say those pics won't look like that in the game, ya'll get offended and start bashin on ESPN.....okay, since this is a LIVE board, lets talk live.....those graphics won't be in the game...quote me on it.....i know some of u live fans know that....but some don't.....

while we're still talkin about Live.....i actually might get both games next time because live is sounding pretty good, the graphics and the quick dribblin is wat turned me off Live 2004.....i mean, my gosh....who dribbles taht fast??
