Adam Silver wouldn't let that happen. I doubt NBA Live hasn't already tried yet.

EDIT: Whoops, I thought this became an exclusive licensing topic, my bad.

Trust me EA isn't making a huge price cut on a big franchise like Live. Plus Amazon already has the price listed at 59.99. The most I could see EA knockin off is maybe 10 bucks. The guy who played the game at Gamescom said its a completely different game, so I expect them to charge full price. This time the 60 will be worth it..hopefully

The game will stand on it's own, even without a price cut.

The game is a complete game, even if it doesn't have the modes that you want individually. I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised at the finished game this year.

If they were going to do this, it should've been last year...that wasn't a $60 game. It sounds like they're actually putting out a solid effort this year, so I can't see a price cut..

I'll agree with that for last year no doubt. It wasn't a full product in my eyes, nor in basically everyone else's eyes.

Take a loss this year and hope to make up for it in the following years. If Live 15 is truly a quality game and they sell it for $19.99 this year to get it in more peoples hand, trust me, the next year those people will pay full price for it. Their is no way they can ever catch up to NBA 2K selling this game at full price just like 2K Sports realized they could never catch up to Madden selling their game at full price.
You do know EA is the most greedy company in the world right?

Never understood and it's getting abit annoying when people say the "nba would not allow it?"

Why would they care they are still getting the money from EA with the contract. NBA isn't losing anything

We aren't the NBA we don't know if they will allow it or not.

I think a lower price point could be a good strategy but only if they're confident in the gameplay and graphical aspects of their game.

The reason NLF2k5 was so successful with that strategy was because they had a gem that wasn't getting playtime just because people were so drawn to the madden name.

I doubt we'd see it especially at 19.99 maybe a 29.99 price point like what Live 14 on XBoxONe has been going for for most of the year. Still if I were putting money on it I'd say we're seeing a full price game.

I haven't seen NBA Live mentioned for EA Access so has anyone heard of a demo? If it has a demo I am assuming they want it in the hands of everyone to try....or if it doesn't have a demo I would assume the opposite.

I was a NFL2K fan so I would have paid $60 for it regardless. Having it at $20 allowed me to pass two copies onto my brother in-laws who had always done Madden. I am not an NBA fan 2K or Live, but if either were on the cheap, and got good word of mouth, I would definitely bite.

I could be wrong but NBA actually sets the price/rules for nba games. I've read that before here.

Re: Should NBA Live Pull a 2K5

Its not about how good the game is, its about gaining market share back; most people have forgot about Live and have moved on to NBA 2K or NBA 2K is all they know, most people dont even know NBA Live still exist especially with their lack of marketing. Heck, if little John walks in to GameStop and see these two games, which one do you think he will pick? Most likely NBA 2K15 based off the name recognition and cover man. We have a entire generation that knows nothing about NBA Live. Selling the game for $59.99 will not help the sells for Live 15.

Like I mentioned above, its not about how good the game is, its about market share, most people dont even know Live still exist. Selling the game for $60 is like 2K coming back out with an NFL game and selling it for $60 right next to Madden, which game do you think will sell more? Live is the underdog and they have a steep mountain to climb, and they may never reach the top if they attempt to go head to head price wise with NBA 2K.

EA? Sell a retail game for $20?

you all do realize the reason we lost NFL2k was because when the NFL saw 2k and EA both drop they games to $20 the saw they were losing money from revenue sales and thought it was better to have one game at the $60 rather 2 games equallying $40...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

The leagues dont loose any money with these games, they get their percentage no matter what.
