Re: New NBA LIVE 2005 info AND Screens!!!!!!!

I can care less about graphical improvement, create a player, extended franchise, etc.

Until they fix the garbage AI, screwed up collisions/lay ups, super fast gameplay, teams not playing like they do, abusive pro hop, and the list goes on... I won't buy into EA's basketball game.

I do. Looks exactly like the lean in runner type shot, often seen from the post. I can't be 100% but I'm very sure. Maybe you don't have a good memory or the different camera angle has you confused. I stick by it and also add that one way or another there were shots in 04 that guys used their wrong hand.

I can see your point about the shooting with the offhand thing (though there are some who shoot with their offhand, *cough*Kobe*cough*) but why should anybody really care if they have the same shooting animations in the game? Leaves more time, manpower, and budget for other more important areas to be worked on...

No , I don't mind at all. Especially if it's good animations that are kept (which most Live 04 animations were). I just wanted to say that I didn't understand why a point was made of it when it already happened in last years games.

IMO the top three things this game needs to improve on from last year are a)mid-range game, b)pro hop dominance, and c)franchise mode. The mid-range game thing has been talked to death, as has the pro hop. Franchise is pitiful though, and its really the only thing ESPN has on Live these days. In those ESPN games it is so fun to work through the scouting process and the draft, Live's was so anticlimactic it was sick. I think it would be great if they could at least add some sort of name recognition system whereas the players are all generated from a combo of names "in the system" and can thus be pronounced. It sucks when, five years down the line, a good majority of the league is number 45s or number 8s. It really takes the personality away from players. Other than that the obvious fixes would be to the free agent thing, which really seemed like a game killer when 04 first came out, and the training camp thing. Camp is a nice idea, but there needs to be a better implementation and easier way to work player progress. Those are just my thoughts.

"10-man Freestyle: NBA LIVE’s new iteration of revolutionary 10-man motion capture technology yields authentic plant-and-cut animations, off-ball animations that offer new spacing and eliminate on-court crowding, backdoor cut scenarios, and new in-air collisions and box out scenarios."

That pretty much sells me. Yea the game has other problems but I've been waiting for either EA or Sega to finally focus on floor spacing and off the ball movement and cuts. Now I just want to hear something about a mid range game and balanced rebounding. Either way, it sounds like they are really on the right track.

The pro hop wont be abused this year. Whenever you use it in heavy traffic, someone will strip the ball or you will loose the ball on contact when you collide with another player.

The court spacing has been fixed as well on the game meaning no players will be sandwich dancing in the paint anymore.
