I can't take his views with a grain of salt, because of his erotic love for 2k. But this is crazy.

He didn't say anything I wasn't expecting to hear. We know the other game is going to be light years better in most aspects.

I also don't agree with his whole they need to scrap the dev team. It's that kind of thinking that got them in this spot in the first place.

ONLY reason you don't release gameplay videos is that it is terrible.


If you had something great, you'd be out there showing it.


That is just basic logic.


The game is going to get slaughtered once 'early access' videos hit the net. They should have producer v CPU gameplay videos all over the place by now saying "this is how to play". Instead, there will be early access users showing its every flaw.

I am not being negative. I am being realistic.


There's just no logical reason not to put out some cpu v cpu videos if they have a good game. People aren't expecting the world from this game. A CPU v Programmer video showing how the game is played would do a world of good.


There WILL be 100s of videos in a few days...all of them from EA early access users and most of them won't have a clue how to use the controls etc / will be slaughtering the AI when etc etc.


Why not control your own destiny by releasing a video of one of the programmers playing the CPU? Show people how it is meant to be played etc.


You only have to remember the Andrew Bynnum video to realise how much damage USER videos can do when there's nothing from the company itself.

Or maybe they want to give people an opportunity to play the game for free, learn the game using the onboarding process, and judge it for yourself.

Don't assume that a game is trash because you don't agree with the lack of marketing. They want guys to play the game, not watch it and make judgements.

I look forward to playing though...when it's all said and done its about playing the game and seeing what it's all about...if it's good, all the marketing controversy is moot...

When I first saw the video, I was like this is crazy because all of the other hands on previews we have read: Game Informer, IGN, Gametrailers, Playstation Lifestyle, MMGN, IdigitalTimes,Irbgamer, and the NbaLiveStreamTeam's twitch stream with ActualBrown have all given positive impressions of their hands-on time with Live 15. It's just so contradictory from what we have been hearing. This guy is rotten.

He sounded much like most of the people who have played the game. None of them (at least in my opinion) walked away feeling impressed they said the game had its good points and some sluggish areas.

Even after listening to the HHG I didn't get the impression he thought the game was TRASH just merely decent. Now he did think it was nothing in comparison to 2K, so its not a game that's going to make you wanna hang up the 2K hat lol.

I'm really trying to give what dude saying credibility cause he played the game but when he says the graphics to this game is barely better than Live 14 that kind of raises flags for me. The game looks amazing from a graphics standpoint so that's the last aspect of the game he needs to be criticizing. Plus, 2K still has jersey clipping in it's next-gen edition, which was the exact same problem they had on PS3 and XBOX 360 consoles. So why even try to attack Live in that department when we all know 2K don't even have they own stuff in order with the jersey reactions in their game?

I always thought of trailers as pieces of the puzzle, leading you toward a real gameplay video. EA decided to ignore this formula, for some reason. I think seeing a brand new gameplay video, especially if you've been waiting for it for a while, is a great experience (assuming the game is decent and beyond). There is excitement when you're just about to press play and see it for the first time. Also, when it's an official gameplay video, you don't need to worry about lower quality, annoying commentary by the uploader etc.. Too bad EA decided to take this away.

I stopped reading after this line. 20 years ago, before teh interwebz, I would agree. But games are being patched non-stop nowadays, including day-one patches. I would say the question is more of who doesn't still work on a game three days before release?

If the game flops, so be it. But we don't know what it will be like one way or another. But I know we can't get a feel for the controls from gameplay videos.
