Re: NBA Live 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
I can about guarantee the EA Access version doesn't have the Day 1 patch. I played a game just a second ago, Cavs @ Knicks, in which I lost on All-Star.
Knicks had 51 points... 22 in the Paint:

My pick n roll game STUNK. By the time I hit the guy rolling, help defense had cheated over to intercept passes.
Lebron was getting boo'ed the whole game by the Knicks crowd too which was pretty cool. I don't think that was there the last time.
24th, this is for you:
Skip to around the 1:10 second mark, when I get out of replay mode
You'll see Melo with the mid range Jumper, then miss, and the kick out after the rebound.Comment

Just played through one game (Hornets vs. Magic) and still have to get used to the controls. The shot release meter is different from 2K's, so I kept getting "Late Release" for a long time, missing many open shots. But that's something that will become better with more play time. Some of the animations are kind of wonky - players glide across the court or nearly teleport to the basket past your defenders at times.
Courts look great, with one notable exception (sorry for the potato quality, my phone camera is terrible):
Court should say "hornets.com" instead of "hornets.con".
The players that were scanned into the game look VERY good, but the ones that didn't are pretty bad. For instance, Elfrid Payton is one of the most recognizable-looking rookies in the league with his cool hair. But this is Elfrid Payton in Live 15:
Come on, man.
I love the ESPN presentation - the halftime show is a 1000x upgrade from 2K's. The announcing will probably get tedious after a few games, but the soundtrack is dope.
Just at first glance, it's a much better effort than Live 14, but I'm still not sure it's worth $60. I'll probably wait until a price drop to pick this one up. Interested to play the Rising Star mode later. If it's engrossing, I may change my opinion on buying it full price.Last edited by Dollar Theater; 10-23-2014, 04:44 PM.Comment

Man that Elfrid Payton is TERRIBLE. They did mention they were able to update hairstyles throughout the year though so i gotta think that will be updated as soon as possible, hopefully Day 1 of the season.Comment

played another game. I gotta say the games growing on me a bit. When the game looks good it reallllly looks good. louis williams on the raptors looks absolutely perfect. I wish they all looked that good.
I noticed what someone else had posted. every made shot is a swish. no rattlers. thats not good.
I like playing defense better in live than the other game.
I really dislike the commentary.
im starting to feel like I might nab this.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

No there is definitely a lot of ball - rim interaction, it's one of my favorite things about the game, quite often it really feels like there's actual physics involved...
I had one layup by Wiggins that bounced on the front of the rim 2 maybe 3 times and then gently and ever so softly went in, but then I was awoken by that nasty deep sounding SWOOOSH sound...
I'd be surprised if they have more than 2 swish noises, and they don't even sound like swishes, sounds like a very bass heavy deep SWOOSH....
Now to be slightly more picky, and I'm just talking here, I notice Steph Curry for example, a lot of the time he seems to hit just enough back rim with the ball to create a very distinct THUMP/SWISH combination..... I mean things like this need to be considered, I know obviously it's not a priority for Live 15, but I'm just talkin hereeeComment

You can definitely see the rag doll physics in the game...but it seems heavily in the offenses favor...I don't think I've yet to see a defensive player "win" one of those interactions...of course this could all change with the patch....sucks that I'm out of time with the demo...Comment

Whew that was actually alot of fun. I cant believe im saying this but im gonna pick this up. There are things that I hope they can patch.
couple more notes.
the jerseys move too much which is really noticeable on free throws.
The release point has,I repeat has to get fixed. Its not good. in the tutorial it says release at the top of the shot but the cpu isnt recognizing that at all. way to early.
I just had a post shot rattle and go in but its def not frequent enough.
I wish there were sliders soooooo bad.
the controls are tough to get used to not cause there hard im just so used to 2k. once you do though I love the responsivness. dribble moves then y button away for a pull up jumper feels fantastic.
I cant stress enough how much I like the blocking in this game. So much authority behind it.
I would have bet a ton of money the way this game was marketed that it was going to be terrible. EA has a strong foundation here. People need to have an open mind here. My first impressions last night were not good but ive been playing and loving 2k for a long time. After I played last night I played 2k again and was noticing maybe live isnt as bad as my initial thoughts so I played live again. I really like alot of the stuff live is doing and I really hope EA builds off this. Is it gonna get more play than 2k from me? Hell no but its gonna get some play forsure which is a huge step up for years for NBA live. That to me is a win for EA. You have this 2ks fans attention.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush
