Re: NBA Live 15 Staff Impressions Ahead of Release Day
I pointed this out in WTF's videos the other day....
It seems like all players are moving at the same speed and just from the videos it appears you won't actually see any real blow by's in this game.
You can fake out someone and then go but in terms of straight blow buys there seems to be a issue.
I would like to see someone like Westbrook or Parker destroy a slow footed PG like Jose Calderon for example.
I play really conservative on D. I don't press PG's out past the 3pt line. I play a sagging type D so it's rare that I get beat off the dribble. As soon as I see I'm about to get beat a lot of times i'm calling for help. Especially when I have a mismatch down on the block.
I love playing D in this gameLast edited by Flightwhite24; 10-27-2014, 09:01 PM.The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Staff Impressions Ahead of Release Day
Man this is the realest thing I've read in regards to NBA Live in years. We're in 2014 and people are saying a game with bad animation, bad AI, no customization and no sliders is a decent foundation lol. EA has been making bball games for almost 30 years. I will not give them a break on judgement like they're a new company. I see people complain about the other game, but they view them in two different lenses as if they both don't cost $60. The more I play Live, the more frustrated I get and the more it seems like a graphics patch to 14. You're supposed to blow us away, not have us going "man, this is almost basketball... thumbs up" lol. If we want true competition, in my mind we have to stop supporting half efforts and demand more. In 2014 I should not have to pay $60 for a bball game and wait for EA patches to tune and update everything. I'm not a fan boy of the other game either. I'm a bball fan. This game is so far behind that it can't catch up like this, because the other game won't stand still. I think they had the right idea with Elite reboot, it was just poorly executed. Dropping a sequel to Live 10 with stripped down options on a next gen system is a 3.5 out of 10 to me in 2014. This wouldn't have passed in 2010, but since the bar is so low it's praised in 2014?Comment

Here's what I don't get. NHL 15 has lack of modes but great gameplay and gets thrashed. This one has all the modes and laughable controls and it's getting praised for being better than last year. Indy volleyball for xbox 360 was better than Live 14, thats not saying much. NHL is 5 modes away from being the greatest sports game ever, yet NBA Live was frustrating to me within 2 minutes when i struggle to gather a rebound when I time it perfectly. The fact it has an alley oops button that can be easily used as a bailout every play of the game is a disaster...I'm sure NOBODY takes advantage of that. NHL you tune up the goalies and have an unreal experience. Can we be fair? Same company...one is a deadman walkingComment

Re: NBA Live 15 Staff Impressions Ahead of Release Day
Something I don't understand about the presentation: After FT's, you see players are about to high5 eachother (and all these rituals), but it always gets cut and there's kind of a jump-cut back to the player - before those cutscenes ever play to the end. Why did they even put it there if it always gets cut? It looks really weird, especially for a game that's trying to showcase authentic presentation.
Unless, of course, the user was pressing a button to skip it, but judging from WTF's videos, I don't think he did.My Specs:

Also, WTF, don't you find steals a bit to easy? It looks like you don't even need to spam the button, it works after 1 try...at least from some videos I watched. I wish the AI was smarter when it comes to ball handling. My Specs:

Re: NBA Live 15 Staff Impressions Ahead of Release Day
That's the Automotion of the presentation.
If you ask me, they realized that the game didn't have enough setting options (with no sliders and all that) and decided to make a setting out of anything possible, so it seems like you can customize more things...My Specs:

Nice. Would you set it to normal in your next video? I'd like to see the presentation at its finest.

I'll record another one with it set to normal. It makes a huge difference and I'm excited about it, haha. Itll follow guys to the bench, get set for fts, etc.Twitter - WTF_OS

I'll actually probably go with live 16' next year. i've been with 2k since 2k5 or 6. Before that really just played ea's march maddness. But I'm just tired of a less than average online experience with 2k, ea may be terrible at A.I. and I'm sure there is going to be quite a few online exploits, but at least the game will be responsive controller wise.
I dont mind 2k offline, they do momentum well and obviously much better at EA at a few things, but even offline the pacing is just a bit slow, not crazy about the dribble controls-liked 2k12s best, hate the dead time they still freaking have from occassional inbound plays taking 5 seconds just to hand the ball to the player, that just too realistic. Faster pace would at least bring it closer to to nba scoring without having to play over 8min qts. I'm tired of seeing these same things over and over. And one of the thing I use to love, great sound tracks have become terrible. Maybe three songs I like alot and the rest hurt my ears.
Would like to give live a shot, probably will rent it this year and hope for progress to want to buy it next year.Comment

Re: NBA Live 15 Staff Impressions Ahead of Release Day
In no way am I'm bashing live, but I want them to do better. I also want customers and fans to demand better. People are justifying 15's lack of realism on court .. is it fun??? it can be but it isnt like other titles arent or havent been for years now LIVE didnt RESURRECT the fun in games...some folk are overly reaching with these buzz terms lol...."Well live isnt a simulation sport so blah blah"....Mannn cmon now we all know live is supposed to be Sim..heck it pretty much created the word SIM in sports titles..This isnt advertised as NBA Live Jam 15...Folks are so bent on something "different" they are giving them a pass on things that if was happening in other sports titles would get massacred.
The bells and whistles are excellent......
Presentation is good, but its supposed to be WITH THE ESPN LICENSE...no kudos from me...they have had the resources in their lap for years....
Yes I'm going to say it again the clipping ............and the reason it might seem i'm going overboard with this issue is because it makes me question the RTP mojo....
If there is a lack of body detection how can RTP even be considered????
If the CPU swipes for the ball and his hand cuts through my player's body like a hot knife through butter and steals the ball CONSTANTLY wheres the RTP???
IJS HHG as crazy as this sounds was correct right about this issue...I wouldnt even consider it a bug...We all grew up playing LIVE(since live 95)...I just think as fans we deserve more especially with the power of the systems we have now....I want live to be better it just pisses me off that it shows promise then drops the ball.....that pic above and numerous others i've posted are examples ...it kills the gameplay in a MAJOR way and I want them to fix it...
Heck this same game Andre Drummond went for a loose ball, the animation to pick the ball up triggered, but he came up without the ball and proceeded to dribble as if he had the ball in his hands cmon now!!!!!
