I don't think the shooting is that bad, the difference between the shooting in this game and 2K, your feet have to be set, and body has to be squared. 2K's player models shoot from the chest up, so it's easier to release at the top of the jump, But with Live you really have to be set in order to make a jump shot. Its not always perfect but I think most people don't want to adjust to Live's control scheme while playing NBA Live.

I been playing this game for over a week and still figuring stuff out, I'm almost there though. Live is not a pick up and play type game

I was playing a game vs the Heat last night, I was the Pacers, I had the game under control but didn't play the whole game how I was supposed to and ended up losing by 2 to the CPU. You gotta be focused playing this game, if you play it the right way

I LOVE swinging the ball around the arc. Just something about the speed and fluidity of it.

I've got a small beef with the arena announcer and the play by play team.

Why on earth do they have to say "for two" or "that's two points" all the time? This should only be said if the player shoots just inside the 3 point line, not on a dunk or layup. It's just something that's driving me a little crazy.

I lost my first 4 games on Pro. I proceed to bump it up to All-Star and smash the computer by 10-15 points, three games in a row. I don't get.

They should have "feet set\body squared" meter then, because having great releases miss at the rate they do isn't computing for me...unless we're supposed to ignore the feedback all together. I wouldn't consider Live's release points at the top of the jump at all. This is coming from a guy that was fine with Live 14's shooting pre and post patch. I think Live is very much so a pick up and play game TBH...not really all that deep to me. There's definitely an adjustment coming over from 2k though...I have no issue with that.

Funny how some ppl were saying ea edited the video to make it look nice lol. They said the same thing about fast breaks also.

I've noticed a passing has been a lot better since late Wednesday night for some reason.

Pray? lol. Don't ask me. Jabari Parker lit me up for 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Picked up the game and I was very surprised. Its very enjoyable and it felt more real playing as to what I see on TV.

The other game I felt always was too much biased to all the flashy stuff. Where here I feel good about getting a decent dunk off.

I like the arenas and sounds makes me feel at the game.

Players when zoomes out are decent I say 7/10. Zoomed in 9/10

I thought the game was easy at first then get pegged back, went behind and had to play catch up. Also times I felt the play was slow, then few 5 minutes it was back and forth frantically.

Only times controls feel slow is in the post but then im not sure if the dman is just too strong so I cant spin.

My only big complaint was steals. I was lossing by 12 and got 10 of those points back by steals when the PG is walking the ball.

Good players score often which I like and if they are open they shoot and dont just stand their doing triple threats moves on there own

Try using the D-Pad defensive settings.
Double Tap 'Left' = Star Focus, 'Up' = Pack Paint, ' Right' = Pack Paint, and 'Down' = back to Default.
Play around with these to see what best fits your needs. Along with calling for the double team tips that were given a few pages back.

I purchased both basketball games this year, it was unplanned.

One too many missed easy layups made me start gathering as much information about Live as I could find.

The fun factor is higher for me in Live. I would consider myself a casual gamer, and a basketball fan - not so much a master tactician. I really don't have any gripes with gameplay that I would consider a show killer to this point. My biggest complaint is probably the lack of classic teams or legends in the general free agent pool.

I will likely keep both and one for classic teams and use Live strictly for NBA 2014-2015 roster play.

                        Pack paint twice,

One of those is guard perimeter I think the right one.

When I'm shooting a free throw, I don't understand why a GREAT release wouldn't go in 100% of the time. This has happened a couple of times to me online...maybe the shot feedback is off in online games? This is the only place I've seen it.Offline, I'm fine with missing some wide open shots on GREAT releases, but that doesn't seem to apply both ways. The CPU shoots the 3 at a insane clip, even with a hand in their face. Seems to be how they keep themselves in games.

Shooting just doesn't feel good at all to me with these release points either...There are player's where you'll get a late release from barely skimming the button. A good bit shooting animations are on point, why can't we release a the top of them?

On a positive note, played 3 quarters vs. Mav's last night...and there was only 1 post up to Tyson Chandler....maybe this is Synergy kicking in.
I would have to agree with the shooting. There are many times I will have a great release, well within that player's shooting range, not tightly guarded or simply wide open and he will miss.

But on the flip side, those circus lay ups and lay ups in traffic in general seem to be automatic. Very few lay ups miss in traffic. I lost count how many times I saw a Center hit reverse layups in this game.

Shooting jumpers isn't a whole lot of fun because of the quick releases. It's more of a "I'll just release it early and hope I get a good release" than it is skill. And it's not a matter of just being different than 2K, it's just really hard to get a "feel" for shooting in Live. I wish this is something they could patch, but I'm guessing it isn't.

The other is player differentiation. It's there, but not quite to the extent that it should be. There's still a bit too much generic-ness in there for my liking.
I pretty much agree with this post through and through. I made a Dynasty Mode and will play it and enjoy the heck out of it...but not as much I think I could if a few things were different.

Definitely happy with my choice to get the game, the effort by the devs is overly apparent. But it's a year away from being my main basketball game, at least.
