A lot of people will have your head on the chopping block with a statement like that but I agree totally with your post. Last year Live 14 played/looked better for some reason on Xbox One. Not sure what is up with that??

Hahaha, yes the Xbox One belongs to my son, I own the PS4 - I'm thinking I may need to use his console more often, it's definitely a very noticeable difference, much more than I would've ever expected.

There's no options to do anything but edit your shoes and accessories

I don't wear Jordan's so I don't know why they only let you choose Jordan shoes

You can't even edit your face which is mind boggling

Started a new one after the roster update and the coach doesn't make any sub's once you check into the game

I have played the rising star mode for the past week. It is nowhere near as deep as 2k's offering, but I am enjoying it. The lack of face editing does not bother me so much, but I can see how it would bother others. And how my performance is graded seems pretty reasonable and fair.


The issue bothering me is substitution patterns. For the first five games I would play most of the first half and the first half of the third quarter, and then I'm out the rest of the game. And I was having good games. I want to be in near the end of the game (that's the best part in my opinion).


The last game I played was better as I played most of the 4th quarter and was in at the end of the game. I am guessing this has to do with your clutch rating in that if it is too low, you will not be in near the end of the game. I raised it a little for the last game and played most of the 4th quarter.


The other issue is that I'm playing on the Knicks and Melo's substitution patters are inconsistent. There are times he sits out most of the 2nd quarter after having a huge first quarter. Or sits out a lot of the 3rd quarter.


Like I said, I am enjoying this game mode, but the above issues have bothered me somewhat.

Thanks for the impressions guys! I watched some vids and the lack of customization (appearance, animations) really is a disappointment for me, esp after watching my brother last night create his myplayer in 2k and seeing all the editing options in there (he had an amazing facescan btw, it was surreal the first time seeing him in the game).

Regarding the shoes, you can actually choose other brand shoes, but only after you've been drafted by a team. It's only for the Jordan Take Flight showcase game that you're limited to Jordan and Jordan brand shoes. Saw it in this vid (skip to 3:55):

So are your jumpshot/freethrow/dribbling animations just randomly selected? Is it the same no matter what position you choose? I'm hoping at least it's somewhat dictated by the play style you choose.

The sub issue (coach not making any subs) is problematic, and I can't see myself playing this mode too if it stays that way. Hopefully it gets fixed. The inconsistent sub patterns, I think I can live with.

Are there options for season length, and mins per quarter?

I much prefer Live's mode over 2k's story-driven/narrative MyCareer mode, so hopefully we'll get a huge upgrade for Live 16 esp in player customization.

I have played this game extensively on the PS4, got a chance this morning to play it on the Xbox One, worlds apart. The Xbox One version is superior in every way, literally (graphically and gameplay), I was blown away the difference between the two, all of the replays and half time show worked as they should on the Xbox, players also looked more intricate, detailed and better colors, very surprised by that, though what really jumped out was the sound quality seemed to be of better fidelity. The Xbox One is the choice IMO for EA sports games over the PS4.

Yes the game plays a lot different from the the ps4 version for some reason, had a couple more hours left on my trail for Xbox tried it out and there was jus something different besides having the halftime show, so I trade in the ps4 version for the box. Win, win.

I'm playing on the PS4 and I'm loving the game. Although, I would like to see a fix for steals, it's way too easy to get them. I feel like I'm cheating it happens so much.

Wow! I got more and 1's in my LUT game last night than in all the games i have played since buying the game.

And they looked great. Like the foul called and the ball bouncing around and then dropping, my player would then react right with a fist pump or get dap on the way to the line.

When I say more, I mean before last night I never saw one. The ball would always fall out. I did get a few and 1's off 3's but never off attacking the basket.
I hope this wasnt just a 1 game appearance.

I am crediting it to the magic lower left update box.

I'm starting to get the timing down on the dribbling and thanks to WTF's simple tip I'm starting to really be able to beat my defender off of the dribble. I had to slow down in order to find the peace of the games movements. I haven't played a game since the updates yet, just been in the practice gym trying to really really get a feel for the game's control. I spent about an hour in a one on one scenario controlling Carmelo while being guarded by LeBron. I had a blast! Towards the end I really started cooking him. He just couldn't stay in front of me.

I wish I could change the camera angle in the practice gym. I find it too confusing on the sticks to control the payers on the far side of the court using the broadcast cameras, so I use baseline but I can't practice it. Hopefully they fix this in an update, at least by next year..

The shot release also I'm starting to get more and more firm in my dislike for it. I think it needs to go back to the top of the jump when the wrist snaps not when the elbows are parallel to the ground. It feels like a change just to be different as opposed to making it better.

Wish I had more time to play. My time to play live is gonna diminish even more when this master chief collection comes out. Lols my girlfriend is not gonna like me this winter

Playing today i noticed a difference, i actually seen bounce passes, first time ever. Dunks blocked

Did a nice dunk out of the post, back to net i pushed R2+S and i spun and 1 handed dunked which was nice

CPU picks up the temp massively when behind in 4th quarter, still need to run more plays to get good 3pt shots open.

Only beef still is stealing, like said above its too easy

I still won by 10, but it was like they just started spamming them to stay in the game...felt very cheap.

Momentum shots still need work. Running left or right and taking a drifting jumper literally looks like a standstill. Little to none extra separation. Hate to mention the other game, but they do this very well. Live 10 had beautiful momentum shots even if the animations were a little wonky or stiff. But at least it represented this part of the sport.
