Re: What are some things that a (former) 2K player should know about Live?
I use be with Live back in the day but have been a big supporter of 2k for 4 years in a row now. The only reason I am with 2K is My Player mode. Can someone tell me more about the Star Player mode or whatever it's called in Live. How similar is it to 2k? I know one thing I saw is no VC coins to upgrade! That right there is a huge + for starters. But, how is everything else? Are upgrades in depth like 2K's my player? Is there a online mode for my player or off line only? If someone has more info on this I would love to read up on it. Thank you in advance.Comment

I've been playing 2K since the Dreamcast days. Last two years I didn't have fun with game. Made the move to Live yesterday. I'm really liking the shooting. I hated 2K shot stick.Comment

2k is amazing game. But i havent been beaten by basketball skill. Always comes down to a few plays were i lose control, off rebounds, dumb cpu contest etc.
Lost by 15 yesterday and walked away feeling defeated but in a good way. 3pt is a little wacky for me at the moment.
Will continue to play both. Niether represent simulated nba. Just 2 different takes on bball.
Live needs a lot more signature and better/more animations I get tired of the players doing and looking the same way when performing#1 Laker fan

all my losses have been accompanied by high PIP % and contested 3's going in,,...still waiting to experience a satisfying loss...
I haven't lost at all since the update and switching to superstar though....don't think I've won by less than 10 tbh...Comment

Re: What are some things that a (former) 2K player should know about Live?
In my honest opinion I'm sort of having trouble having fun with the game because I'm a season/owner/gm/dynasty mode type of player and I really enjoy the other elements that come with it like storylines or stuff how players want more minute etc. I haven't experienced that in my dynasty yet (im only 3 games into it though). And any of the news is just like the same old same old like "Green burns Hawks" and a little description with it. I think if it included that I'd love it.
In terms of gameplay it's fun, you have to learn the controls first though or else you're going to be like "LIVE IS TRASH, 2K FOR LIFE". I'm still learning the controls, but in terms of gameplay I just can't stand how it is when you drive in the paint the defenders just like move away and you make the bucket they need to fix that.
The commentary is nice though at times im not sure it just like dies, but once JVG talks it's awesome. The audio in the game is nice, I actually use to think the lighting in 2K14 was amazing but I actually think Live got it better. There is some dullness I feel now in the 2K lighting.Comment

Just a tip, in order to do some of the signature type dunks, hold down the LB/L1 modifier button. Been practicing in practice mode with Lebron this morning:

Re: What are some things that a (former) 2K player should know about Live?
^This.
Also, set both Human and CPU (I believe it is Home and Away) Auto Motion to ON. This will give you movement from all players which 2K does naturally.
Also, call plays most of the time down the court (D-pad left or right + L1 on PS4). This adds great pace to the game rather than having it turn into a run & gun fest. The pace of Live 15 is one of the more underrated aspects of this game that not many people are talking about.
Lastly, just have fun. Cut out the noise that you may read on here by people who want to focus on everything the game can't do.Comment
