APPARENTLY ESPN 2005 WILL HAVE THEIR OWN ALLSTAR WEEKEND

    check it out

    http://forums.operationsports.com/ubbthr...;o=&fpart=1

i doubt it be good as LIVES though cuz EPSN cannot do all the hiphop/fun stuff to their basketball games as live could juz compare live 04 n espn 04... espn tries to do this fun stuff b ut i think their suited to be a TRUE sim BBALL game.. juz take a look at espn04 nobody liked it cuz it tried to be an arcade/sim... live is abit of both and they do it well... thats why i like LIVE BETTER!

i dunno if this is true yet but if it is i rekon espn juz had to in include it in their game cuz live did it... but LIVE came up with this first! and iot'll be waaaaaaaay batter on LIVE!
LIVE 05 ALL THE WAY!.... GO KINGS!!!!!

Who knows which one will be better? Who knows if ESPN had planned to do this but just didnt annouce it before Live? 04 was just a bad year for basketball games I tried both live and ESPN last year didnt like neither one of them. I am going with live this year it just seems more fluid. One thing that is important to me is the C-A-P and 2k just have gotten worse over the years in this department. I also hate iso motion but freestyle control is great. I love the 2k series but I am leaning toward live this year.

Re: APPARENTLY ESPN 2005 WILL HAVE THEIR OWN ALLSTAR WEEKEND

Guys, I was the one that started that thread. Since then, I managed to get some info from my colleague and this is what I got. It's more gossip than info but here goes:

Apparently, Live did come up with the all-star weekend first, but through a leak VC found out with enough time to develop a similar concept. According to my colleague, both VC and EA had agreed to put off All-star weekends until the next consoles but EA reneged on their promise when they found out VC was releasing ESPN B-ball in early September, possibly at a lower price. When VC found out, they started developing their own all-star weekend at the expense of an early release, so they game won't come out in early September although there are still talks about mid-late September dates. Also, ESPN's dunk competition woud be similar to the College Hoops competition since the engine was already in place.

VC has chosen to dedicate most of their time to presentation and franchise, with a new expansion career mode and something similar to Madden's owner mode. Having finished that however, they are working on graphics and animation as we speak, and there's a wild rumor that AI himself, along with Jamaal Magloire and J. O'neal are doing this year's Mocaps. AI will do moves for pg, sg and sf, JO for sf and pf and c, and Magloire for pf and c.

This is most of what I heard, and I have no official confirmation, but I'll post more as soon as I find out.

This isnt confirmed. Just some guy saying he overheard from a guy that overheard from a guy that it was in. I hope they both have tightened up the gameplay in both games before worrying about allstar crap.

I overheard from a conversation at work. I then proceeded to talk to my colleague who was having the conversation. My new findings are above.
