    Re: Sales figures?

They actually did a lot of damage to the brand with Live 14... they should have skipped 14 completely and came out with 15. Because 15 is what 14 should have been, a step in the right direction.

14 was just a continuation of the mess that was Elite 11, that was clear to everyone, I have no idea how anyone at the studio making the game thought that game was a good base to restart the brand. Game was whack in every aspect, 15 isn't great but it's what they said 14 would be... a new start and step in the right direction.

even if they are using the same old outdated engine

EA released an upgrade, but nothing else. That is where the problem lies with Live 15, it is nothing more than an improvement on a horrid game in the graphics department, but they left out all the things you would expect from a sports title, especially when it is a second game.

Low sales is what this game deserve because it is not complete, just a empty shell of b-ball game with no roster editing or creating players. Don't require much funding to have that in the game.

I wonder how many potential annual buyers they lost with 14. It was a bad idea to hype 14 like they did and admit how bad of a game it was after release imo. I bet there were people who felt ripped off & misled after purchasing it for $60 that are no longer considering Live because of it.

Ok, yeah the numbers are horrid, but I think a bit of that comes from the stench of Live 14. What's sad is, I know people can be fanboys of one title or another, but video game bballers are really missing out on a solid game here.

Is live perfect? No. However it is leaps and bounds better than live 14.

Now I agree with everyone saying they HAVE to get the word out about their game. People have been burned with a few live games in the past and EA must do something to bring customers back besides just giving out gold packs in ultimate team.

People still enjoyed 14 tho. So wasn't a total loss

Not a total loss? to who... to those handful of people who enjoyed it ? I guess so but in every other aspect it was a total and complete loss, financially and critically speaking it was an absolute bust.... it was Adam fckin Morrison is what it was... Even EA themselves admitted it for the most part

I don't get their mentality, the stunt they pulled last year it's as if they were going after the wrong customer base, with all the half truths and hidden agendas it's as if they were trying to gain a whole new consumer base of mostly teenage kids who don't know any better they were hoping to sucker in a new generation of fans.... almost as if they knew that longtime hardcore Live players/fans would know Live 14 was a mess and wouldn't buy into it

I been a long time Live player, but Live 14 was quite literally an insult to my intelligence..... it did almost as much damage to the Live brand that the failed Elite 11 did, think about that for a second because Elite didn't even come out it was that bad.... truth is it really did come out, only a few years later..... and it was called Live 14

Not going to make improvement if you keep sugar coating things buddy....

They are obviously listening to us now from the two recent threads that were posted here....

So it's ok to pat them (EA) on the back for the good things but lets not keep sugar coating the bad things that were wrong or else they will just put a band aide on it with that type of logic you showed.

Looking at the 2nd week numbers, the drop off is quite huge. It looks like this game won't hit Facebreaker numbers, and that was 50kish. Yikes..

Where do they go from here? This is looking like around a million in sales at best. What does it cost to make a game like this?

                        Re: Sales figures?

EA is a corporation, they know what they're doing. It's been said already, they weren't expecting huge sales this go around. They didn't even really market it. They are playing the long game, and they knew going in to Live 14 that it would take time. If they weren't willing to invest the time, they would have scrapped the series altogether during the hiatus. I wouldn't be surprised if Live 16 is when it all pulls together and they will market it like they're known to market their games and it will compete. But even then, they won't expect numbers close to the competition. Realistically, Live 17 should. As far as I can tell, this is going according to plan, because Live 15 is a lot of fun, and a step in the right direction, and they know it.

Also releasing it on the same day NBA comes back is a stupid idea, it's better to release it early so people can get their basketball fix.

A million? That was be a great result for the game..............but they are NOWHERE NEAR THAT.

They are currently at around 20 000....................this game may well not make 50 000 sales. That is absolutely disastrous and unheard of for an EA game.

The losses on costs making it will be enormous.
