That's Live 98, right? I played it on the PC and really liked it. I think it was the first Live game that had a postup/back-down button and icon-passing. The replays were beautiful and also I think it had a direct-shoot button, which, when combined with another button, would make the player dunk or layup...or something like that.

NBA Live 2004
NBA Live 2010
NBA Live 2005 (honestly thought this game was great but overrated people were nuts about it)
LOL I think it was NBA Live 99 I remember you could turn off fouls and like the steal button animation was like your pushing a player, so with fouls off mans be pushing players to the groundComment

Re: Post your favorite NBA Live game of all time
1) Live 2000 (PS1) - Loved it, my favorite of all time, Raptors just got there new purple jerseys (dropping the Dinos), 2nd year VC (he was a beast), Antonio Davis, I even had a little rotation going and TMAc coming off the bench just like in real life. I had perfect scores/stats/rosters, this was before online gaming.
2) Live 95 (Genesis) - We all played Live 95, I mean everyone. Everyone in school ran Live 95. Classic game. It killed the NBA Jam era.
3) Lakers vs Celtics (Genesis)- It all started here as a youngin. I was blown away with real teams/players and sig shots (I see you Tom Chambers).
4) Live 2004 (PS2)-First real punch on the PS2 (Better than ESPN 2k4 that year). After some wonky PS2 titles. When I popped in Live 04. It was like "wow....Live is back !!) VC on the cover was a bonus as well. Shout out to Pared's sliders (anyone remember that ?)
5) Live 10 (PS3)/Live 96 (PS1) - First real punch on the PS3 (only took 5 tries). First try on the PS1 (announcers and voices/player names under the player, 3d stadium...classic).
PS: GisherJohn, my bad the other day for ragging on you about this being a "Live 15" forum only. Your right, it's a "Live forum" my bad homie.
PPS: Yes I still own all of these NBA Live's. I was actually missing a few of them here and there but now thanks to kijij and retro game stores I actually have every NBA Live (Genesis, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4). All in good/mint condition, with all components (game, case, manual). Its quite the collection. Some of them were hard to find but it if your patient, the rare ones pop by your way now and then. I even picked up Team USA basketball. I only don't have Elite 11 (it never came out but a few do exist, but I wouldn't pay $ 1,000 + for it). Live 96 for the PS1 is my most prized and hardest to find (long box cardboard Ps1 game, mint condition).
All good my man. I love going back playing old games sometimes. Live 09 is quirky but a fun game of hoops if you don't mind the occasional hiccups of gameplay. It's a pretty smooth game.Comment

Re: Post your favorite NBA Live game of all time
NBA Live 2004. Very simple and solid basketball game. Also drafted rookies are actually worth something.
06 and 10 were pretty fun too. Have yet to pick up Live 15 but I plan to.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats
MLB: Atlanta Braves
NBA: San Antonio SpursComment

Live 15 but NBA Showdown is right there. I remember driving to EA's San Mateo office and got it a few days early. That game was amazing. The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Post your favorite NBA Live game of all time
Does anyone here realize that Live 98 and on (probably until Live 2000 or 2001) had a Direct-Shot button (actually a combination of buttons)? I think it allowed you to layup/dunk, maybe even choose which animation would play.My Specs:
