How Do You Spin-Layup

It seems the control displayed is broken, and impractical to actually perform. How can you twirl the RS while pressing Triangle at the same time? I've tried different timings of the presses/actions and at different locations near the basket to no avail. I even tried it with the LS. The CPU does it all the time so It's frustrating not to be able to know how to do it as well.

How Do You Spin-Layup

For the record, to do the spin move it is triangle + spinning the left stick in the direction you want to go not the right stick.

One reason you may have trouble executing it is the game will block it from happening if a defender is there to stop the cheesing. It will just become a step back jumper if a defender is directly in your path. I personally dislike this they should have just added euro step, spin move, and hop step animations that are low percentage with a lot of contact from the defenders instead of completely stopping it if someone is there.

Btw you don't have to press the shot (square or X) button after doing the spin move it will do the move and shoot for you. Only press the shot button to do a shot adjustment.

As far as timing it works well as long as you have some space to work with. Try getting your timing right in practice mode
