I never understand why people care so much about the sound the rim makes when your player Dunks... Who cares?? I would much rather have a better playing game of basketball than a damn dunk sound... The game can be in total silence for all I care, as long as it has great gameplay then I love it...

Thats why we want the jumpers to look real, why we want the players to play like their real-life counterparts, why we want the scores and simmed stats to be accurate. We are trying to immerse ourselves in an artificial world, where we control the action. That disgusting dunk sound has no place in that world.

Its no biggie though, I just turn all the sound effects waaaay down. Why EA continues to go with arcade sound effects is beyond me, though.

After watching the vids, I cannot wait for either of these games. Lives gameplay looks very impressive, and while the dude playing the game must have never watched an NBA game in his life...I can tell the pace is gonna be nice for the people who want to slow it down.

I'm gonna do ESPN on the 'BOX and Live on my soon to be upgraded PC. Then I can just D/L better dunk sounds.

See, if you guys were happy with last years core gameplay you will be happy with this game. Its a fixed and improved version of 2004.

Gameplay isn't much different other then the main problems being fixed, graphics IMO are much nicer, menus are cleaner and much easier to navigate through etc.....



Just don't open this game expecting it to blow you away.

I liked last years version actually. How bad is the sliding though Deuce compared to '04?

Also if the team play styles are set instead of having to manually do them then gravy.

Sliding from what I saw is there, maybe not as bad as last years, but it is there.


Play styles seem to be in the game. I know the game against Detroit, I had Prince taking threes, Rip shooting midrange and Sheed posting up on me.

forget immersing yourself in the sound of a dunk, just be happy that you have great gameplay and good features, and a good AI... I am a simulation guy and can't stand arcadey stuff, but the sounds that the rim makes on a dunk is just the thing that people look for to say that a game sucks or that its not that good because of a sound... cmon.... I never understand that..
