My demo impressions and some appreciation!

First off I want to say this is the most complete demo I've ever played, the amount of polish that is gone into this shows the EA sports really took the time to get this right. There has been a lot of bashing in the last few years of the live series but I think this could possibly be the best NBA live in history ( Big statement I know )

    Positive's

    1. The game is just so much more fluid. There is a BIG difference in using John Wall as opposed to someone like Deandre Jordan. The games have a real good tempo about them.

    2. Shooting is super improved, you actually wanna shoot jump shots in this game. Some awesome step backs in there too

    3. Players play like themselves, I was able to "bury" my head into the defender on post moves while using Blake Griffin, have the ball on a string with CP3, murder off the dribble with Kyrie ( with some amazing finishes too). I've seen the most life like lay ups ever in a computer game. A huge improvement from last year.

    4. You got to work on defence. There are some nice tip block animations, playing the passing lanes etc... Really good stuff. And it's not as if it's overkill either, you can't just button mash.

    5. Teams are going to there stars. Playing through Lebron and Kyrie. Excellent to see.

    6. Passing is another huge improvement. Touch passes, hand offs all look fantastic

    7. The visuals are just CRAZY! Player models and front and presentation are by far the best of ever seen in an NBA live game .

    Negatives

    1. Speed is a little bit hit and miss there are some really bad slowdown animations that you see from time to time.

    2. The out of bounds force field is still there

    3. There are still a few funky player animations where the player seems to get stuck in a bad direction of po there are still a few funky player animations weather player seems to get stuck in a bad directional pull. Feels really forced

    4. No player edits ( ok ok I just threw this one in here cause it sucks not to have it.. Yes I know it's a demo, but there still confirmed to not be in)

All in all I feel like the negatives could be very easily patched. Normally demos are not of final build but I feel like this game is going to be very complete and a lot of fun and that something I miss about playing video games . I've actually woken my son up who is sick in bed several times to show him replays of some amazing stuff . I'm super excited for NBA live 16 and this demo should really help sway some people back to the NBA live series .

Congratulations EA sports , the demo is an absolute winner!

Pro am is tons of fun. If anything the games are too short!

Haven't touched any of the online stuff as I'm pretty old school and play all my stuff off-line

How is the lag online? Most games online I've found to be terribly unresponsive

This demo is awful. A lot of the animations are cringe worthy and the graphics are average at best..

Re: My demo impressions and some appreciation!

I got to play a little bit last night, both pro-am and offline against the CPU. Pro-Am has a lot of potential, but it depends largely on who you get matched up with. Unfortunately, my teammates tended to be ball-hogs who wanted to play nothing like real basketball, which ruins the experience a little bit. Those same players tend to also not pay attention on defense, leading to a lot of easy baskets. I haven't beaten the 2nd CPU Pro team after 3-4 tries because of that. I can't count how many times I've had to guard two players under the basket because my teammates are running around just attacking the ballhandler. I am a stretch PF, and I think I've gotten a total of 10 touches (not shots, just actually touching the ball on offense) in the 5-6 games I played. With the right teammates, I could see it being a ton of fun.

Offline, I am definitely liking it more than 15. The playcalling and offball movement alone are massive improvements over the last two years. I also love the play art when calling plays. I do wish calling a "suggested" quick play was available past half court.

Animations are definitely improved, but there are still quite a few awkward looking ones in there, mostly in the post and under the basket. The CPU moves the ball a lot better than last year as well.

I'll be playing for a few hours after work today, so I can really dive in.

I love alot if what I've seen from various videos but I'm very upset that they still a letk some players to just take off from wherever for a layup .

Also the cpu posting up ur man near the free throw line thing is still there which drove me insane last year.

It's crazy that a die hard live fan like me never noticed the horrible floaty passes before lol. Definitely needs to be addressed.

You sound like you arrived at this conclusion purely from watching bootleg YouTube videos... Not from actually playing the demo itself.

I was not overly impressed work the single player. The game had made improvements no doubt. It's not a bad game by any stretch. It's just not up to the competition's level so it feels empty to me.

That being said. The Pro AM / Summer Circuit. HECK Yeah!!!! I will buy the game just for this alone. It is awesome. I did experience a little bit of lag and i felt my player was a bit sluggish but i was feeling it. This mode makes you EARN your upgrades and the difference between a big man (me) and a PG is quite noticeable. I love it. Well done EA.

I had high hopes for NBA Live but I have been let down again. Expected huge improvements and none of them have been seen. The control scheme is the same as live 15. Animations are almost the same as well and it's far too easy to score in the paint yet again. I really wanted the series to improve and become more of a simulation but they are years away from that it seems. The program mode is great but the novelty of the quote unquote realistic basketball courts wears off quickly. I can see the game being fun to those who are into hardcore simulation basketball but for older guys like me and micro for friends the game does not warrant a purchase and we will continue to play this demo instead
