Shot Meter Explanation
What all factors into the percentage in the shot meter? Is it just timing wise? There have been many times where I'd release it right at the top of the meter (ball in the circle), and I'd get like 67%. Then there are times where I'd release it before the meter and get 73%.Tags: None -
Re: Shot Meter Explanation
I think it depends on where you shoot it from(and the players percentage form there), The contest(different players are affected more or less than other by them), being off the dribble( same as contest, depends on how much that player is affected by them, they determine that with advanced synergy stats), and a dev said there is a height modifier that lessens the contest effectiveness the taller you are over your defender) that's all combined into a percentage and if you hit the circle the best you can do is get that percentage

Re: Shot Meter Explanation
Okay, so as far as I know, here's how it works.
1) Take the player's actual % from that spot on the floor, per Synergy.
2) Subtract a % based on a non-perfect release, if necessary.
3) Subtract further based on whether or not it's guarded, whether or not player is off balance, etc
4) Add % bonus if the player has a high off-dribble rating
Whatever number is left is the true percentage chance your shot will go in. Meaning, a 3 point shot with a 40% chance to fall is actually really good compared to NBA averages, but will still miss about 6 out of 10 times.Comment

Re: Shot Meter Explanation
I really liked the concept and was super excited..but I was under the impression that percentage you get was the actual percentage making it. I love that idea..but I feel like you'll get a 43% made 90% of the time.

Re: Shot Meter Explanation
I think difficulty must have to do with it? On all star you still make 95% of open 3s instead of the 43-63% if displays.. I actually thought the idea of a 63% chance on an open 3 was cool and added suspense the whole time the balls in the air if it's gonna drop or not due to the talent of the shooter..

Re: Shot Meter Explanation
No I wasn't implying that, but I'm thinking maybe the settings played in head to head may cater to what you want. Was trying to see if you'd played online already. I haven't played the demo yet so I wasn't sure if there was head to head in the demo. Btw when you said sliders I don't know you were talking about online shooting, that's why I thought you had played online in head to head.. Anyways hopefully there are different lobbies with different difficulties online

It is very kind of them to have this in depth of a demo..unfortunately it made me cancel my pre order though.
