So...is there actually a way to guard against alley-oops?

I was testing out Pro-Am today.

I had these couple of guys I kept matching up against who did an alley oop on every possession they had and it was nigh unstoppable.

I was in perfect position in the paint as I knew where they were trying to throw the oop from. My created guy is a 7'3'' defensive center and this did nothing. After the 7th time in a row they did this, my entire team collapsed to the paint. They still dunked over all of us.

They were abusing a weird animation where they would set a pick and pop. The center would screen the guy on the ball carrier and then roll off the screen and go to the net. It would result in a weird toss animation where the guy would rainbow the ball extremely high in the air making it unblockable.

So is there a way to actually stop this?

I don't play online but normally putting your body in-between them and basket helps. Don't jump but try to take the lane away. Attack player soon as he comes from the pick. If he gets a few steps the animation is automatic dunk.

But then again im playing offline with tweaked sliders.

    Edit.
The alley oop starts/activate around the free throw line.

I was playing offline with default sliders against a friend and he spent an entire quarter scoring literally every point off alley-oops before I convinced him to knock it off. He had a couple of lob passes miss, but 90%+ of them connected and I kept getting slid out of place and couldn't stop the guy trying to receive the pass
