Still the same old game *sad face*

I just spent longer trying to Game Face myself than I did playing the actual game
More features YES, but the most important thing the game feel overall is still the same, just a bit more polished.... they continue with the business model of polishing a turd....

No company should be getting away making a game in 2015 on a Playstation 2 era engine anymore, why are we still falling it and why isn't anybody speaking up??!!...
I can't comprehend why does this rarely gets discussed, it's like a "hidden" elephant in the room, the fact that both Live and also 2K continue to use Playstation 2 and Dreamcast era engines polished to look pretty with added animations, but STILL THE SAME CORE PHYSICS ENGINE UNDERNEATH IT ALL....
It's like I just bought a 2016 Ford Mustang, but I pop the hood and see an engine from the 2005 Mustang instead

It's really one continuous loop of animations, and you're sliding from one to the next, when you're not doing that well then you're slingshot-ting to the hoop for layups or dunks..... interaction between players is just animations playing out etc... the only time you taste any freedom is when you're bringing the ball up the court alone...
Every single player feels identical the most difference you feel is a PG has a higher top speed than Big, everything else if not identical it's extremely hard to notice

We need a company to come along and create a new physics engine from the ground up that plays true to life, players will move and react according to the laws of momentum and the actual situation being played out, and you will have interaction based on true physics.
What we have now is Player 1 vs Player 2 and whoever has the higher rating, the engine does it's calculation and plays the proper animation, it's really that simple and nothing about any current sport game is based on any sort of physics whatsoever, don't let any bs fool you, Iginite, Eco-Motion... it's all buzzword marketing...
I know it's extremely complicated to build a new engine, not to mention cost and we know EA is a business first and foremost, but how much longer can this go on for guys....

sorry for long post, just had to get it off my chest

To be fair both games use old engines. One is just prettier doing it. Both have their legacy issues.

Yea I get many games are using the same engine for many years, but EA and 2K have been using their really old one from the early 2000's.....
That's waaaay too long, as many other big game studios I think try to have a 5-10 year cycle, I mean otherwise the game just doesn't look good especially when you move into a next generation console...

The GAME IS ROTTEN FROM THE CORE..... and yet they keep pushing it with polish and adding more animations like it's a solution, if they could at least have some more realistic animations it wouldn't be so bad, I would honestly dump half of these animations as they look ridiculous and unreal, like the game is set on arcade setting.

And in Live 14 couldn't even hold a steady 60fps on these new gen consoles if you switched a camera angle, Live 16 still has some framerate issues, so that's just another reason they need to ditch whatever they are using, INVEST IN THE FUTURE EA, otherwise you'll get left behind... you already got left behind, then came back with the same old bull which is inexcusable if you're trying to get back in the game

And Call of Duty's engine is based off Quake 3 Arena code from 1999. I'm sure 2K and EA use animations or parts of their engine from past gens, as most games do, but they're so heavily modified by now as to barely matter.

^ The fact you used the term "heavily modified" shows you drink their kool aid, as that's literally the same identical term game developers ALWAYS use whenever they speak on this exact same subject. It's one of those cover up terms they love so much.

And speaking of Call of Duty you do know it's been getting tremendous amounts of crap swung their way in recent years specifically for this issue... that it felt like the same recycled old garbage.
I don't play that game, but from what I've browsed past last few years on other gaming forums I think they actually went with a new engine recently you might wanna look up on that.

Or it shows that I know what I'm talking about. Advanced Warfare used an iteration of the IW engine which is based on ID Tech 3. BlOPS 3 uses a modified version of BlOPS 2, which itself is also based on ID Tech 3. Titanfall is based on the same engine that powered Half Life 2, Witcher 3 uses a modified version of the original Witcher engine, and so on.

Very few games scrap engines completely, as it's expensive and, more importantly, time consuming. Here are some games with new engines that have come out in the past couple of years. See if you can figure out what they have in common.

                Rory McIlroy Golf
                Forza Motorsport 5
