Re: LeBron Scores 138 Points: Live 16 Major Layups + Dribbling Through Issues
Wow I thought the layups were bad didn't realize they were this bad because I never tried to use them to this level
Can a dev comment on what is included in a patch?
- Shooting % success rate seems to be off the calculation seems wrong that seems simple to fix by patch
- Layup triggering speed and distance, guys triggering layups from distances way too far and too fast. Can this even be patched?
- Success in the paint when contested needs to go way down.
- Animation selection in the paint is just awkward to say the least. The animations don't play out in a normal way. I know they know this which makes me think this is the best they could do with whatever time resources constraints they had. Is this stuff even patchable.
- AI defense can it be patched
I haven't heard or seen a post saying these type of things are included in day 1 patchComment

I didn't make it past a minute in the video because of the guys voice. From what I did see all he did was prove Sam right.
If you seriously think a patch is going to fix the issues in these videos you are kidding yourselfComment

Isn't the demo the full game but with locked out features it's also the same size as the full game in gb so there's no reason to think the full game will fix anything graphically or any AI fixes just unlocks the features

I was thinking the same thing the whole time watching the video, dude completely showed the game has MASSIVE issues and then keeps saying it's not a big deal to be concerned about, it's just the demo, it'll be patched - uhhh yeah, sure it will be.Comment

Re: LeBron Scores 138 Points: Live 16 Major Layups + Dribbling Through Issues
BS, YOU CAN NOT DO THIS ON 2K, just total BS, just don't see it happening. I actually find 2K frustrating at times because the defense is like glue, almost too much at times, to a fault.Last edited by Philstat; 09-20-2015, 10:53 AM.Comment

Re: LeBron Scores 138 Points: Live 16 Major Layups + Dribbling Through Issues
Live might just not be in a place for the AI to contest cheese like that, sorta like where Madden was a couple of years ago, or 2K was 2 years ago or so. For users playing against AI, you'll probably have to play a realistic game to get realistic results. What stuff like this does for online play remains to be seen. We had a cheeser in our testing group who was killing another player with Lillard. I took over and I think he scored 4 points in a quarter. If a user can stop it, then it's not quite a gamebreaker. It's certainly less fun if this is all you see online, but it's not necessarily a game breaker.

78 was the highest I got with durant so far just doing same screen plays over and over. I pray for everyone the the retail version has adaptive AI like what I witnessed with the other game last night. And per this issue being patched, that's impossibleComment

Not true. At all.
The 'defensive system' is just object-oriented code and logic algorithms.
And Patches are used to fix such coding issues.
When you download & install a 'patch' it OVERWRITES the existing code already installed on your console.
So a developer can patch ANY part of the game they wish. (Whether it's the defensive system, the presentation UI panels, shot mechanics, the CPU AI, the HUD overlays, the arenas, jerseys, etc.)
The only question/factor is whether they have enough 'time' and 'resources' available to work on certain issues.
That's the ONLY thing that limits what gets put into any given 'patch'.
Patches are usually confined to 'bug fixes' because most developers do not have enough coders on staff to work on the very next version of the game... AND... rebuild/fix the existing game at the same time.
But with enough time & effort... EA (or 2k) could turn an entire NBA sports game into a 'first-person shooter' with just a SINGLE patch, if they chose to do so.
But it just doesn't happen.
The investment is too great because a game developer has to devote a significant amount of MONEY (and staff) to do it... which cuts deeply into their annual profits.
So it's not that a single 'patch' could never create an entire defensive system.... It's really a matter of 'how long' it would take to rebuild it... and whether or not it's worth the investment, in the eyes of the EA executives.Last edited by Roger_Black; 09-20-2015, 11:20 AM.Comment
