CPU Offensive players attacking you more than ever

CPU Offensive players attacking you more than ever. Am i the only one that has noticed this? And that without touching any sliders, settings, etc. all on default.

Especially while playing pro am. If you push up on a guy. he will do everything he can to get around you before passing it. and to make matters rougher. if by chance you can keep the guy in front of you and he's a good passer. he will still rush the rack then jump pass it to some open/semi open guy. so its very very difficult to double/paint clog without getting burned.

I've also noticed if you attempt to double to slowly on a perimeter player. he will swing the ball quickly. again making for a wide open shot.

It seems as if the AI is smarter/more aggressive.

And do not try to run up on a guy that has handles. bad news. He will keep sizing you up, in hopes you will crack under pressure and either reach like an idiot, or just slide left or right anticipating where he's going to go. if you choose wrong. good night, its over. he's already at the basket in 2 steps.

This is something to me that seems a lot more realistic than any of these hoop games in the past. This is something i use to see a bit more often back when i could edit my rosters in 2k. right before the next 2k would come out. i would download someone's good old school rosters, then start a my player/my career off of that. Because it was so many stars(boosted AI/offensive & defensive awareness/other attributes). these games would play out more realistic to nba players aggressive behavior on the court.

The one thing i've noticed about nba guys as opposed to any other players out there in real life. is that if you have a good guy at the park. he has 2 good moves he can go to. where as most people MIGHT have 1. If you lock up that 1. its pretty much pass the ball time(assuming they are not hot dogs).

NBA players are not just good because they have so many moves. they are great because you cant stop the 2 or 3 moves you already know they are going to do. a lot of that has to do with the fact they will size you up(in the post), high post, mid, on the perimeter. and have you trying to guess what they will do next. but they will keep going at you over and over again on each possession until you finally crack. thats the difference between a regular joe athletic guy guarding a nba player vs say K.lenard from the spurs guarding a nba player. he wont crack.

I actually like this about live and i assume 2k will have something similar since it seems a lot of gaming companies are starting to utilize more of these next gen consoles to make the AI smarter.

I don't like Roy Hibbert taking me off the dribble from the three point line in the pro am

cut his lane off before he gets going. and he wont.

i have never had a big rush the rim on me in pro am after i got my speed up to approx 80, then i learned how to play defense, and i changed my camera angle to baseline low(zoom into the paint). so you can see everything going towards the paint.

now the other guys yes. still get caught from time to time and we already know about the lack of physicality in the paint at times. thats not what i'm talking about. i'm talking how aggressive these guys are on the perimeter, mid post, low post. any previous games(either of the two). they would try to go once maybe twice and that would be it. then its a pass off. but they are super aggressive on this game.

a lot of stuff that happens to you in pro am while you're trying to play defense/rebound is due to two things. that camera angle. so you cant see things closely. and your ratings suck. you're way to slow, you're not strong enough, and you cant jump that high. lol.

I agree I played a few quick matches and it was the first thing that stood out to me with gameplay. Every time they had a mismatch downlow they would be backing you down 2 seconds later. It was actually frightening at times how fast they'd notice they had a mismatch. Cool feature.

          This.

Shouldn't have to crowd guys like Bogut or Adams at the 3 point line....but if they get a running start they'll finish like guards

I play center on pro-am and once I have to defend a guard they've already blown by me and scored. I look foolish, but it's meant to happen!

I can't be my speed up to 80 I'm a true big . That doesn't change the fact that Hibbert can drive like Wade. Why is he even that fast

Because EA should slow down ALL the 'driving animations' (and dunks) so that offensive players do not 'sling shot' to the rim, leaving defenders 2 or 3 full steps behind, before they can even respond.

This would provide more 'realism' where a defender can still get 'beat' by only a half step, or so... Yet not feel like they are COMPLETELY 'out of the play' with no chance at all. (Which causes 'frustration' & feeling 'annoyed' by the gameplay.)

It's better to have more 'close calls' on the plays at the rim, where defenders are ALMOST blocking shots... because it provides a more 'dramatic finish' at the bucket... Plus removes the 'arcade-like' feel at the same time.

We shouldn't be able to block EVERY shot... But EA has to give NBA gamers the 'incentive' to keep playing defense by rewarding their 'effort' with 'close calls' and 'near misses'... Because if gamers get too frustrated at the defensive end by offensive players 'blowing right past them' all the time.... it destroys the 'replay value'.

Bad 'defensive mechanics' will sink a basketball game quicker than a lack of 'deep customization' options.

On almost EVERY trip down court... you want gamers to feel like: 'I played GOOD defense... But that was just a BETTER shot', and that's why the opponent scored... Which is highly acceptable to folks who play/watch basketball in real-life.

But if gamers feel like: 'Most of the time, I just cannot keep up on defense. At all. This is some BS!!'.... That's unacceptable. And they will just 'shelf the game' (or delete it, or not buy it at all).

                Sooner rather than later.

EA is on the right path, but the 'speed' of the game (overall) just needs to be tweaked a bit

                Just my opinion.
