    Re: NBA LIVE 16 REVIEW

Good find and fair analysis. Things we all know are issues and generally agreed by most. Would like to see the full retail game with patches push it into the 4 range. Features will still be lacking so that's not changing this year and a patch can't do anything about that. I really expect bigger things next year. They simply have no choice and quite frankly should have all the incentive to swing for the fences!

Read that today, it's PastaPadre's review. On point with most of the issues and concerns. Hopefully some updates and patches will clean up most of the things he mentioned.

Yep, read it earlier. I don't disagree. The lack of editing and improvements to dynasty lower the overall score.

Hoping Both are Addressed in Live 17, if not Sooner for Editing in a Patch IF possible.

              Re: NBA LIVE 16 REVIEW

That is a fair review and it was stated in a simple manner. I feel like NBA live 14 was a 4/10, '15 was a 5/10 and '16 is like a 6.5/10 (Pre-Patch). They have made strides, but the level of content and polishing is just not there yet.

I hope I see new modes with some depth, smoother animations and etc... It needs a lot of other stuff, but I'm not trying to type an essay right now. Lol Good review nonetheless.

Adding player editing would greatly improve a lot of the little issues that happen. Live 10 had the best player editor i've seen since Flynn's 2k editor. Being able to edit multiple players at the same time was a life saver.

Here's hoping for patch or 17.

                  Re: NBA LIVE 16 REVIEW

One of the better basketball reviews I've read in a while. Thanks for the link.

                  There's another review here:
The NBA Live franchise has played second fiddle to 2K's glorious basketball game for the better part of the past decade. Momentum is shifting as NBA Live is moving up the ranks and progressing with each outing.

                              Re: NBA LIVE 16 REVIEW

                              My 2 cents:
Ignore the reviews. Figure out what YOU want in a bball game.

NBA 2K arguably looks better, is more polished, and more accessible. It's a tried and true formula that is getting it very right. It is designed for online shootouts/leagues, and does this well. Literally every single person I know purchased 2K over Live. Awesome soundtrack, Spike Lee, MJ!

Live is gaming old school. It's unabashed in punishing for poor defense, and forces a player to respond to ball bounce, defense based on dribbling hand/hip direction...in addition to player movements. Passes are delayed since the player has to pick up the ball to pass(!). It can't be any more dichotomous a gameplay experience, one where playing against the AI is not frowned up. There's a learning curve.

WRT reviews, most are looking at Live for its online credentials and new game modes. Live, however, is content in experimenting with new gameplay nuances - not modes - as primary emphasis. Dangerous for reviews, where repeat purchasers want to justify shelling out $60 each year.

For me, I'd rather wait out Live patches, play challenging games against the computer, hope a great OS'er hits me up to play a sim style game (PSN: OrngeAlum). 2K is a great game, just too familiar.

This is why I also bought PES 2016 over FIFA. And have no regrets there either. It's just a different game...and I like that. Note I owned FIFA and 2K last year. Will probably purchase them both a few months from now.

Do I have regrets? Sure. I may have bought 'inferior' product in both instances. But I like supporting an alternative option...knowing the best Live may be 1-2 patches away.
