Re: NBA Live 2005 Interview - Part 1

I agree. We keep hearing that they can't add historical teams due to licensing issues. Why not just change the numbers and appearance of the players, while keeping ratings correct? The NBA Live community will figure out who is who, and EA will not be liable to pay any licensing revenue. They were able to do that for the first 10 years of Madden...are you telling me they can't do it now for basketball???

In-game saves is on the list EVERY year for the past 6-7 years, and they still "haven't had time" to implement it? But lets spend considerable time on beefing up the NBA Store (which was already fine as is)? Lets get our priorities straight!

what the hell does that mean? can someone explain?

can we import from march madness or not? if we can't that's a major step backward for their "improved" franchise mode.

another step back is no multi-team franchises. these people have no clue what consumers want. thanks for the dunk contest EA that I'll NEVER play.

BTW this and march madness are the only bball games i'll play. i've been playing EA bball since celtics vs. lakers. it looks like another year of disappointing basketball gaming.
Dude stop being a moron and buy or rent ESPN basketball 2k5. I've also been playing ea games since lakers vs celtics but does that mean that i am now their slave for life?!! nooooo i like live, but then i tried ESPN and i liked it better.

No wonder ea sells more u ea fanboys are zombies GEEZ!

p.s. live looks pretty good this year, still on ice tho.

                dood assume nothing!

i've played/rented the espn games in the past and i don't like them. i'll buy both this year but i'm not counting on much from VC. this isn't about ESPN, it's about Live putting out a better game!

I like ESPN NBA, but I play each game every year and make a decision. Live franchise mode sounds good but no create a team is a sore spot for me. Again I will play both and make a decision. I have seen videos of both any I just can't help but wonder when EA will catch up to ESPN in terms of graphics. Anyway, sounds like this year is going to be a battle(just like in football) and I look forward to playing both games after I read this interview. Thanks Steve.PEACE!

                            Very nice interview Steve; KUTGW.

                            Now a few comments.

Why a limitation on 40 created players when the hardware is capable of much more data? And no ability to make custom teams? Dern! Sounds like a Playstation or Nintendo Game (NBA Live 2001 for PS had 40 caps and custom team creation).

The franchise otherwise sounds impressive w/several decent draft features implemented.

Its gonna be a close call between Live and ESPN. Already I love the 20 dollar price tag for ESPN. Its a right bobbly dazzler that.
