Xbox vs. PS2?? I Need Help!!!!

My PS2 passed away(R.I.P.) to the disk read error plague recently. I am going to go to the store September 29th and buy two items.

    1. NBA Live 2005
    2. XBox or PS2

I am leaning heavily towards an Xbox for a lot of reasons. But I am so used to the PS2 controller. What should I do?

If sports games are mostly your thing, for the most part they are better on the Xbox. There is a PS2 controller adapter if you must use the Dual Shock however once you get used to the Xbox's S-Controller, you probably shouldn't have any complaints.

Overall with the Xbox, you'll get faster load times, no need for memory cards, crisper graphics, better frame rates, and in the case of some games, use of the hard drive for highlights and custom soundtracks (although that last point is only with Sega sports games).

Online play is better overall on the Xbox as long as you have broadband and are willing to shell out $50 a year for XBL. If you play more than EA sports games, the features of XBL are worth the yearly price. If you only play EA sports games online, you probably won't get your $50 worth.

In terms of other games....well this is a sports forum so I won't go into listing them however if you've already played most of the best PS2 games, might as well move on to the exclusives on the other console.

Also, the new Xbox's that use the Samsung disk drive are extremely reliable. I'm still waiting for gamers who say they get disk errors with that hard drive. A lot of the employees at EB or Gamestop know which boxes the newer Xbox's with the Samsung drives come in. If you get one of those, you shouldn't have an issue of your system dying on you anytime soon.

I got both a PS2 and XBOX and I'd say XBOX for all the reasons above.
