Anyone want to get to work on real 'play sets'?

Looks like there's NO authentic play sets yet again.

Every teams on dynamic, which means two guys posting up either side...find open man or slash...

Last year, we worked this out after a while and KDRE and some others came up with some nice working team sets.

These aren't ideal...as the CPU then basically runs that 8 or 9 play set...and little else (ie switch Grizzlies to SIDE TRIANGLE)...

To save time, does anyone want to start on which types of play sets will be best...or just copy last years? LA won't need the triangle set anymore though etc.

Kind of dissapointing, after a decade, they still don't have actual NBA Play Books in LIVE...

QUOTE: I haven't seen the CPU run many plays at all. I have seen the Heat setup for an alleyoop to Shaq after a TO. All in all tho, so far I haven't seen the CPU AI run too many plays at all. The AI looks to find the open man for the shot and/or slash to the hole.

Yeah, would be nice if LIVE had them.

LIVE has a great 'feel' of basketball (2004)...contact...the "ad lib" style, the post / outside game. It's improved a hell of a lot...

Play sets would really top it off as a 'sim'...

Seems unlikely though we'll ever get that.

Look for a lot of posts in the months ahead that read...

"Switch control...Nets, Mavs and Nuggets to 'motion'..."

If we are able to save our offense in Dynasty that would be ok with me.

Well, you could wait and see if ESPN has them in. From looking at the previews, they do, and their sets from 2k2 were pretty good from my memory. Supposedly they have a scout who looked at all the teams offensive and defensive schemes last season.

We won't be able to just 'copy' ESPN though.

From what i've heard...they have very team 'specific' plays. (Like Inside Drive had).

                    Ie, Rip Hamiltion screen plays.

Specific PF plays Phoenix run for Amare etc.

Live has 'sets'...ie, generic sets of motion plays etc. (default is 'dynamic', ie two in the post, clear out). Overall, they're a nice set of plays.

Just not 'team' realistic to the actual NBA.

I'll help you work on it too Monk. Not sure exactly what I'll do this year, but we'll find out, because truthfully it made Live '04 so much more playable and enjoyable once the playsets were put in and the teams that should have slowed the game down.

Cool, I'll try and put some together.

If ESPN is great though...I may just stick soley with that. Live looks a great back up though
