What's happened to EA Sports? EA UFC, Madden and Live have all been terrible.Comment

Re: Will there be a Live 17?
The fact that this is the most popular thread in the Live forums is just sad.
They do need to make bigger improvements during each year though and need to improve dynasty mode and rising star, also we need customization either through a patch this year or by next year either way it's unacceptable that it's not even in the game for 3 games straight.
For me, and we will never know the erason, why they didn't continue to use the very good NBA Live 10 engine. The decision to start over with Elite was a terrible disaster. Live 10 had a good engine and imagine what Live 16 could be if they didn't have to start from scratch? I always heard rumors it's because they didn't want 2K's influence on the series when Wang came in for one year from 2K. It's a bit bewildering. but either case, most agree, Live 10 was the best the series has been for a long time, arguably. Since then, I also think they cut corners and they simple need more people making these games. Or thinking even farther, maybe these guys are just not capable of making "that awesome game". 2K set a standard and it's going to be hard to beat. I know Tiger Woods franchise lost some guys, and look at the quality that game has become. For me, Live 16 is still a good step in the rihgt direction ,but they can't let up, they need to really go all out and make sure they don't give up jsut because sales are not good. I think they should have pulled a 2k and released Live 16 at a 29.99 price point at launch, but that's just me. I think they would have made more money too. But again, just my opinion.Last edited by GisherJohn24; 10-19-2015, 08:08 AM.Comment

Re: Will there be a Live 17?
As consumers, we should want the NBA Live franchise to compete strongly with the NBA 2K franchise -- that's the best way to guarantee we get the best games possible. NBA Live 16's Live Run, while far from perfect, is so quick and fun to play, especially when you have a good crew of teammates. I hope EA capitalizes on what's good in Live 16, and listens to consumers about what they want.

Most of the games I purchase, I already know that I'm getting them months in advance. Competition, if there is some, never enters the equation. I remember 2K5 and Madden 2005. I got both because they were both awesome. In addition to 2K being awesome, it was only 20$. The gaming steal of the decade. Different, but awesome in their own way.
Better or best is wholly subjective so it's not worth it to get into. I loved running the ball in Madden 2005; NFL2K had awesome presentation, defense and tackling. I remember thinking, man, if they combine these two games it would be over! LOL. There was just so much more creativity and care in the game and it showed in the product. I don't get that feeling now. I would say that EA and the team responsible for that Madden are better than the ones now and that has nothing to do with competition. Back to Live.
It doesn't need to be better than 2K. It does need to be better than what they have been giving us so far. I won't purchase a subpar game, regardless. Especially not if there is a much better alternative on the market. I understand that they are building, and that's cool. Then get at me when that vision is realized, or price the game accordingly. Otherwise I'm not touching it with a 10ft pole.Comment

Why wouldn't there be, sorry I love the game, it's screams fun and that's all that matters to be. Plus there one year away from being a real real contender

Re: Will there be a Live 17?
It will sell more once it hits the discount bins, but those fugures are beyond terrible....
the sad part is that poor sales figures do NOT mean it will be cancelled.....what they mean is that it will be released again as Live 17 and, once again, with absolutely minor improvements.
The engine, face scans, etc have all been done. So, the money has been spent.
Terrible sales figures means they will not 'reinvest' more money...but they will want to cash in as much as they can on what they have already spent.
I.e. Live 17 will be basically be the same game with some minor tweaks.
The series needs a whole new set of animations...more devs...much better social media etc etc etc...but those things cost money and it is clear EA is not prepared to invest in this series anymore. Not whilst it sells so poorly.Comment

Live 15, 16 are fun games...but they still look and play like a 360 / PS3 game...Comment
