Looking for explanations of exactly what the player attributres do..

In the other thread I posted, Miles_Yuhas suggested that the 3 rating interacts with the FG rating, basically determining the range at which a player can choot at their FG rating (or something like that). Basically saying that they interact.

Does anyone have some thorough explanations of exactly what the attributes do and how they interact? Or a link to good explanations?

I found that out from GrnDynasty by the way. I tried it out in Live 2004 and looked at the range after and it is true.

I gave my explanation of where the rebounding, assists, steals, blocks, and primacy ratings come from in the other thread.

3pt rating was closely correlated with 3-pointers made per minute, just as primacy rating was with FG made per minute.

I wish NBA had a combine similar to NFL, thatd make it easier to determine speed, quickness, jumping, and other athleticism attributes. The NBA combine would probably suffer from the same problems as the NFL one though.

All Game companys that make sports games should include a rating table or desciption in their manuals on how their ratings work and what they do. This would make it a lot easier for the consumer doing player editing and creation, as well as give us the logic on how their ratings come to be. Its such a pain each year to figure out their rating systems, I think it would help people a lot to show them. Im sure if they did this they would have a lot less people saying: "Why is John Doe's rating not higher, he is clearly better then Jeff Doe." Anybody else agree?

Not concerned where they came from, but how they actually influence the game. I.E. The way Miles explained how the 3PT attribute functioned.

That would be sweet. Then we would all know how to do CAP's RIGHT. Cause even the people that do them great are still doing some guesswork.

I think people need to start making this issue known so that the companies start to see it and then it could possibly become a reallity. I dont see why they dont make it known already, what do they got to hide, its not like it matters if another game comany sees it, their not telling hard code about the game engine or anything. I really hope this becomes a reallity soon as well as tutorials on how sliders affect gameplay.
