I know where you are coming from and agree as it pertains to its current state in the absence of slider adjustments. Slider adjustments, however, can improve the situation from a contact/physicality standpoint. My only problem with sliders is that they can break or weaken the game in unintended areas while bolstering others, so alot of effort and care has to go into balancing out the game and understanding the interaction and impact of these sliders. Lastly, since Synergy also introduces another variable, I'm staying put with default settings for now.

no but the game has no discipline,, it makes no difference if your a skilled player who has played a while, or understands basketball.... if an oblivious person grabs nba live 16, they can be successful, there needs to be realism, which means going and fading a bunch of times, or just standing there and shooting with defense already on you, needs to end in bad possesions and more airballs, its on h2h and the live run, and thats where the balance is exploited, i watched overall 75's (which is beginning player) stand and shoot 3's draining them, and exploding to the hole for dunks, and they look like they have no idea what there doing, the game shouldnt reward people playing nonsensical and un realistic.Comment

Was finally able to play a game this morning after being away for work. The game plays similarly as it did before the patch (and I liked the game pre-patch; just wished defensive help was better). I didn't notice a night and day overall difference but it's only one game which also means it's hard to tell if some changes are just random or part of the patch. Here are some thoughts:
1) Driving to the basket and perimeter defense felt very similar to me.
There may have been more physical bodying outside but I felt getting to the basket was about the same. It did appear that players may rotate over more to the basket to help at the rim but I'm not sure if there was much of a difference.
2) More fouls.
The Bulls trounced my Pistons 89-65 and went 22-24 from the line. Contested shots certainly seemed to result in more fouls.
3) Less blocks.
Despite having blocks maxed out at 100 there was a total of 1 block between both teams. May have been a fluke but a bit concerning.
4) 3 point shooting toned down.
The Pistons aren't a good 3 point shooting team and I went 3-24 from downtown. Contested 3 percentages seem to have taken a dip after the patch.
5) Less Points in Paint.
Cpu shot more mid range including taking a couple dribbles and shooting pull ups. The Bulls scored 89 and only got 36 in the paint. That is very low for NBA Live. They didn't seem to drive to the hole as much. One game?
6) Auto subs seemed stupid.
Guys like Reggie Bullock and Aaron Baynes were the first subs off the bench this time despite low ratings. It was annoying with the latest roster update. Jodie Meeks was on the active roster as the 7th man and didn't play a minute. May have to turn off auto-subs.
Here is the Bulls shooting chart:

Not sure what this comment has to do with what I said

They really have improved the shooting in traffic logic- they've finally made some headway here after 3 years....maybe they figured something out....they just need to keep improving on it and we're good to go...
There's still too many auto high arch layups and animations that's are interruptible to really feel confident defending the rim, you can still take off from way too far away and dunk in traffic, but it's progress.
For all the talk of freedom of movement and control I'm surprised no one has made mention of the gathers after receiving a pass that take way too long and limit your ability to pass. Contact can also cancel out your pass presses.
I also really like the trajectory of Lives passes but they are way too delayed and slow for me. Overall patch has improved some aspects but somethings about Live 15 that bothered seemed to have creeped back.Last edited by The 24th Letter; 11-26-2015, 10:52 AM.Comment

All I have to say, after playing more, the game plays so much better, rebounding is better, not seeing the ugly animations anymore, I play on superstar and it quite a challenge , im really liking the game more now. I feel and see the changes big time.

Played another game and pulled out a win with the Rockets over the Clippers. The computer definitely seems more willing to take shots from the outside. I still think there are more fouls than pre-patch. I don't think blocks are an issue after having a combined 10 blocks in this game. I really don't see much difference in the perimeter defence or driving the lane. It feels the same although the help defense is a bit better possibly. In this last game I noticed the cpu executing double teams more often. Again - fluke? Three point shooting is definitely toned down although I think it's better that way. Contested shots seem to drop about 20% or about half your normal shooting percentage if wide open. I personally don't notice a difference in rebounding. The game feels good but I'm surprised to see the no body/shirt glitch from the demo rear it's head in this patch. Why did a mistake come back?
Overall I still very much like this game. I don't think this patch will change many people's minds one way or another to be honest. You either like Live basketball or you don't. I think this patch did tone down the offence a little.Comment

the patch for me has brought another year of a love and hate relationship with live 16. Played a game and it seemed tight offensively i controlled rebounds, midrange and 3's were dropping and i played great defense. Game was tight and very enjoyable. Then played a second game and it was a complete cheesefest. from spamming the paint, to wacky animations, and etc. I was in shocked to what i was seeing. Played another game and it played a bit better, like the first game post patch. I mind was going frantic to why im not seeing consistency all across the game. I think for me, thats the main behind my frustrations with live 16, is that there is just no consistency whatsoever with the gameplay. One game plays well-rounded and the next game is a nightmare. Night and day from each other. My most frustrating issue.Comment

I disagree with regard to Pro-Am mode. My player is a 95 post-scoring center with strong defense, and I know how to play basketball. My center does a great job at both blocking and disrupting drives to the basket, including dunks, in Pro-Am's Live Run. When I play with other ppl who know how to defend, we always run teams with unskilled/oblivious players off the court.

Like the final Live 14 patch, this has broken a number of things too. It really makes you just shake your head and think EA simply don't have the numbers in their team and budget to handle this franchise any more.
There's new bugs where you can't pump fake when the game says you are being double teamed (whether you are being locked up or not). Causing you to launch unintended threes if you are trying to fake out of the double team or pass in mid air (which you also can't do when the game auto shoots for you after the bugged pump fake).
The menus in Rising Star now run about twice as slow as before, it takes seconds for any button presses to register, it's laggy as hell.
I'm also seeing missing jerseys everywhere on court, lots of topless bodies, even weird pixelated messes on the jerseys.
Add all of that to the broken hair from the last patch (they improved the frame rate by ruining th level of detail on hair, before you really zoom in, the hair is just a chunky mess for most players, making them less distinguishable from gameplay cameras).
And while the improved rebounding is nice in general, to accommodate the fixes, they've actually sped up a number of animations making it look silly at times.
Typical NBA Live, one step forward, two steps back.Comment
