Anyone figured out how to cover your eyes when you dunk? I saw that in a commercial I think.

That's Dee Brown's dunk... actually I think 'Nique did it first.

i'm having trouble using the modifiers (L and R), how do I use them? I hold them but nothing works... any help please?

just figured out how to do the throws where u are faced away from the basket....i have the ps2 version and i pointed the right analog stick up then did swung it around to the bottem...so a half circle

Don't laugh but I'm having a tough time with the dunk contest. I got the game last night and me and my brother messed around with the Dunk Contest for like an hour and did NOT make a single dunk. Which button actually puts the ball in the basket? I was pressing square then triangle a few times and Spud Webb would jump up and it would make that noise as if he was going to throw it down and then he just comes back down with the ball.

Could someone throw me a frickin' bone here? Do you hold the buttons or tap them? Any help would be super. I have the PS2 version BTW.

go under game modes and go to the dunk school. it has three real good practice tutorials. then stay in the advanced practice to get all the dunks down before going to the dunk contest. I'm still having a hard time catching alley-oops but the practice has really helped.

Yes, just figured out last night to ROTATE the thumbstick in many different directions as well as Tap or Hold a direction. All will result in many different variations...

They are RIDICULOUSLY hard to time and catch with some fancy dunks, though!

I have to say, the ASW Slam Dunk Contest is actually pretty realistic in it's implementation. I think EA did a WONDERFUL job on it....

Anyone else find the camera angle for the dunk contest rather difficult as an angle for dunking? I didn't know that for the contest there was only one camera that you could use, so while I practiced under the center court camera, the whole aspect of timing is a lot harder from the default dunking camera.
