I'm starting a dynasty as the Celtics and it shows my team is about $10 million over the cap. How is this possible? Is this allowed in the NBA? If so does the game model the salary cap correctly?

Salary Cap Question
I'm not a huge follower of the NBA so am a little confused about the salary cap.

As for if it is modelled correctly in the game, I cant answer that, as the game aint out in this part of the world yet.Comment

Re: Salary Cap Question
if your over the cap, i think you can still sign free agents for the mid level exception and lower level exception(correct me if im wrong someone) and you can still make trades as long as its no more than 20% differnce in contracts. if your below the cap you have more flexibility as you can take on more salary then sending out.
for example if your 8 million below the cap you can send out guy who is making 2 million to a team over the cap and they can send you someone that makes up to 10 million(i think).
if both teams are over teh cap then you would have to send a guy(or multiple guys) that make about 10 million give or take 20% to make the trade work.Comment

I'm trying to ship out Raef Lafrentz and his 5 year $9.09m contract for somebody with a 1 year deal. If I'm successful I'd be losing him plus Rick Fox, Gary Payton, Michael Stewart and Tom Gugliotta after my first year, freeing up $26.83 million in cap space putting me about $12 million under.
Another question. Does the salary cap increase every year like the NFL?Comment
