Is Live or Espn a better game FOR ME?

I know this is a heated question but I just want an answer for what game would be better for me personally.

I have not bought a b-ball game since 2k on dreamcast. I want a sim style game where star players play like stars and reserves play like reserves. I could care less about who's tattoos are right and how the rim looks if the gameplay is there. I am a little leery of 2k5 because I heard players dont play like themselves (ex. Shaq not in or around the paint a lot). The other reason

I am leery of 2k5 is because I HATED NFL 2k5. It was way too buggy and glitchy and the franchise mode (what I mainly play) was unplayable, if NBA 2k5 is ANYTHING like this I don't want any part of it.

Please, I know this is a lot to ask, but I just want an unbiased opinion. If you are a fanboy of either series please don't respond, the last thing I want in this thread is a big argument. Thanks all!

you and everybody who has not bought a basketball nba game yet needs to buy nba live 2005. the superstars in nba live 2005 play like superstars. the role players play like role players. also the gameplay in nba live 2005 is more realler than espn 2k5 basketball. occurse you got the alsome 3 point contest and the absolutely best slam dunk contest to play. the slam dunk contest buy itself beats nba 2k5 basketball by a million points. i would pick buying nba live 2005 if i was everybody. i already got the game for the xbox version and the graphics are the reallist graphics i have ever seen in a basketball game. i am ready played nba espn basketball 2k5 and the graphics on that game are horrible.

I really don't know which one to buy either. I keep swinging backwards and forwards. I think in the end I might buy Live because of it's all star weekend. I have inside drive 2004 which is as simulation as it gets, so I don't see ESPN a worth purchase because it doesn't seem much of an improvement on Inside Drive, if at all. Live seems to have solid gameplay but the ASW seems to be the deciding factor. If the 5 on 5 gameplay is any good then that's a bonus. I'm not a fanboy at all. If anything I have something against the Live series. But I'm still not 100% sure which one to get. I most definitely want a new game because no matter how good ID2004 is, it is becoming out of date in all areas except gameplay. I wish they never cancelled that series.

Let me try to give you an unbiased opinion, something that kiethpetty couldn't do. NBA Live is more about the glamor aspect with all the dunk contests, shoes, 3 point shootout, etc. I love that. The poster above said the graphics on ESPN sucks, that is a lie because the graphics are amazing. If I were you I would probably rent both, but keep in mind that one is 20 bucks and the other 40. Either way, you can't go wrong because they are both good bball games.

I bought ESPN and I rented Live, both good games. But if Franchise mode is important to you, then Live is the way to go. I am a Franchise mode junky and very disappointed in ESPN's mode. The AI still makes dumb trades and the Association, while a good concept, is way too simple and gets boring very quickly. Live's Franchise mode blow ESPN's out the water. That's one of the reasons I am thinking about buying Live.

Also, in both Games I have made an effort to play against teams with the superstars. For me both games got their superstar players the ball but Live does a slightly better job at it. ESPN seems like.... oh yeah, somehow Shaq got the ball / while Live is like... get the ball to Shaq, get the ball to Shaq.
Anyway, if you have $60, buy both, as of right now I cannot recommend one over the other.PEACE!

the only way you're going to get a good opinion on the games is to rent both of them, and that alone is half of ESPN's price, so you may want to see what you can afford, rent Live if that isn't what you want buy ESPN. That's a ton of comma's and a run-on sentence.

Its quicky becoming a tossup to me. I have ESPN now but I'm gonna buy Live later this afternoon.

I'm pretty sure Live is a more complete package as far as gameplay goes because with each new day, a few more glitches and flaws are being discovered in ESPN. They are'nt much game killers to me because I'm gonna find away to fix most of them. If they are'nt fixable I may go with Live for my season.

Its been discovered also that in Live, the teams go more for they're star players and in ESPN, they go mostly for the open man. But with such a short timespan, this has yet to be really verified.

But since you said it yourself, you could care less about tats and such, you cant go wrong with Live because from the looks of it, they're gameplay is less buggy. In the end, bugs are what will seperate the two games. Because I'm presonally having a blast with ESPN. Its just that those newly discovered bugs will sooner or later get to me.

Well if this says anything, the "flaws glitches" thread is like 10 times longer for ESPN. Take that for what you will, I have both and like em both. If you like Multi user franchise then ESPN is the only choice.
