Keith Petty, you cannot be very realistic. I have watched these boards like a hawk since Monday and 99 out of 100 people have said that ESPN may very well be the best b-ball sim ever released. 99% (except for Hilary of IGN) say that the teams run their offenses through their superstars. 100% say even the minor flaws do not take away from the core gameplay. Everything, Mr. Keith, you said in your post reflect somebody who watches basketball for the glamour, not the substance. It's the reason we got waxed over in Athens. All Flash, no substance. That's why they make Street Ball games, too.
All I can say to the person who started this thread is take an hour out of your day and read the boards. It sounds to me that you can't go wrong either way, with a slight edge going to ESPN NBA 2K5. And this is from somebody who owns more EA games than Sega Sports. And I hated ESPN Basketball. Had it for a week and traded it for Live which gave me an enjoyable run on my PC. I went into this season thinking that I was going to buy Live hands down, but I've had a change of heart. The price cut makes a world of difference, but so do the honest souls on this board who take the time to form a balanced, unbiased opinion.
I've been doing this since 2003, buying games without playing them and the only time I'm dissapointed is when I rush out and buy the game without listening to people on here for a few days. I don't trust that many people, but the guys (Milennium, Pared, WallyHop, NJKroc, PDiddyPop and a bunch more) on here with a bazillion posts are the ones you should listen to, not to fanboys who don't post here often. This board is for real. Trust in it with your heart, mind, and soul. It will not let you down.
