User or CPU shot control?
Is anyone having success with User controlled shooting? I'm having all kinds of trouble hitting open jumpers, nothing will fall. At first I thought I just sucked so I went and practiced, but still nothing drops. These aren't challenged shots either these are wide open 18 footers I'm missing. I don't know what it is I'm releasing the ball at the top of the shot, shooting with good rated players and I'm wide open. I think I'm just going to have to move to CPU shot control because my TV is in serious jeopardy of having a controller fly thru it.Tags: None -

I have the same issue. I just switched to CPU controlled shots and they go in now. Otherwise, I'd be dealing with lots of wide open misses. It's just ridiculous. -

Re: User or CPU shot control?
Does CPU shot control just determine the time the ball is released, or does it also determine when the ball is shot?
IE, does the user still have control of everything up until he hits the shoot button?
Also, does Freestly Shot control work with CPU shot control enabled?Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Re: User or CPU shot control?
Originally posted by SonicmageYes, of course. The only thing is your player will automatically rise to the right elevation during the shot. Then your ratings determine whether you make the shot or not.
In hockey games I consider it "cheap," but in basketball you are shooting at an unguarded hoop (IE, no goalie), and I'd rather have the shot percentage be based off my players' ratings than my (user) ability anyway.
I'll try this out later tonight and see how it goes.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Re: User or CPU shot control?
Just played a half using CPU Shot Control, and I like it a lot.
Now I can focus on getting open looks and know that the shots that should go in, will.
If I work for an open shot, I think it's fair for the chance of that shot going in being based on player ratings instead of my timing.. Because I assume if my timing is off I'm hurting the player's shot rating even more.
So yes, I like this a lot. It really allows the user to focus on getting open looks and making the shots that he should. It's not out of control or anything either. You can definitely tell the shot % is based on ratings, and I've noticed that Andre Miller is terrible at shooting 3's in Live, yet I heave them up anyway.Enjoy football?
