    Low assist totals

Anyone noticed the low assist totals or is it just me?

The low assits totals are starting to annoy me. Not a game killer but it's starting to bug me...no pun intended.

I'm thinking that the stat engine for this game has a flaw in counting assists. I played with Denver against New Jersey and up to half the Nets had only 1 assist. And Jason Kidd played nearly the whole first half. How can a team with Jason Kidd on it have only 1 assist?

Did EA mess with the stat engine and created a bug? Because last year the assist totals where on the money.

    Re: Low assist totals

I don't think it's the stat tracking engine because it tracks human assists fine. I only play one game a week, so about 2/3 of my games are simmed and I average 22 assists a game. When I actually play the games I get anywhere from 10-25 a game(usually end up around 15). I haven't really paid much attention to how many the CPU gets though. I do look at the team stats after each game I play and I never noticed any terriblely low numbers for them. I will start checking how the opposing PGs do though. If there is a low number I think it's in the way the CPU runs plays not the stat tracking though.

I have just started to notice this. Most of my stats are right on, but assists seem too low compared to real life and last year's Live.

I usually HATE when people try to justify an issue with claims of user deficiency...but IMO, the stat tracking is fine.

I had a game (Lakers/Kings) where after the first quarter I had 19 pts but only had one assist. After that I made a conscious effort to move the ball around and use good offensive strategy to score instead of relying on so much freestyle/dribble penetration to score. I made myself move the ball around until I got good looks and could score without putting the ball on the floor, and tried harder to drive and dish.

Kobe ended up with 28 pts, 8 assists and 7 boards, and my offense flowed alot better. As a team we ended up with 26 assists (the Kings had 23 or 24 as well)

Try it, the assist stats will come, trust me.

I'm not trying to make this an issue. Like I said it's not a game killer but it's noticible and I can live with it. I know I can get a realistic number of assist BUT the CPU is the one who's deficient.

Like I said in my first post, when I'm playing against the Nets and Jason Kidd they should have more than 1 assist by half time.

I don't think its a stat-tracking issue. The way the CPU runs its offense, it simply doesn't get a lot of assists (relative to made field goals). It's a problem with the team offensive AI. Maybe using using certain playbooks will help, but on default the CPU does a lot of shooting off the dribble.
