Possible Solution to AI Defense Problem

I, as many others are annoyed at the CPU swarming my players whenever they touch the ball like it's the 7th game of the NBA Finals. I think I found found an easy solution to this problem. This may have been tried before but I was just playing around with the setting and this is what I have done.

Before the start of the game, do the following:

    1. Press Pause
    2. Click on Settings
    3. Click on Playbook
    4. Click on Team Strategy
    5. Press the Right Trigger to go to the cpu controlled team
    6. Switch the Defensive Stategy from AutoSwitch to Man to Man.

You may also switch it to any other defense that you would like. This really seems to be clearing up the spacing problem that many people are having. The only drawback to this is that it may become too easy and we will have to adjust some slider accordingly, but we shall see. I haven't done extensive testing but I just wanted to share with everyone. I haven't seen it posted and thought you should try it out. Let me know if it works for you.

    I am using Pared's sliders.

am going to try this when I get home...thanks!

The only problem i guess is that you have to do it every game, right. No way to save those settings?

I haven't had this problem whatsoever....In all the games I've played against the CPU, they've NEVER doubled me until the end of a close game.

It's not that they double team you. It's that they do no give you enough space and always seem to know where you are going. this is because they are using autoswitch defense. try it and you will see what I mean.

Did any of you actually try this? If so, what were your results?

And what's wrong with that? No NBA team plays simply straight up man to man without help defense. If they did, their coach would be out of a job. Why do you think NBA scores are so low? Players have to be very talented and smart to get all the way to the basket.

they still give help defense and switch off. with the autoswitch defense is awful. if you change it to man, the AI will play full court man, 3/4 court man, half court man, etc. It's not giving you any advantage in my opinion. I don't find it any easier or harder to win games by changing it at this point. I don't know, maybe it's just the way that I play. Just try it out and see what you think, if you would like. just trying to be helpful since I have seen many people complaining about the defense.

I'll try it. Do you play at superstar difficulty? I only play at allstar difficulty, and the autoswitch defense feels perfect for me.
