      Re: The NBA Playbooks thread

      Seattle SuperSonices- Zone Screens

Rashard Lewis plays on the wing or in the corner majority of the time. You will see the SG in this offense, Ray Allen on the Sonics, actually curl on the baseline. But it is a delayed curl (not as smooth as NBA 2K5) where he'll run the baseline and stand for a second behind his Center as if the Center is setting a pick on the chasing SG. Then he'll curl around. It is nowhere near as fluid as ESPN but if you hit him in time, he should have about a 15 foot jumpshot.

Watching a CPU vs. CPU game, in the first quarter, Rashard Lewis went 4-11 with no shots in the paint. That's a plus. But this was my favorite offense to watch because it seemed like Lewis, Allen and Radmonovich were always in the right places.

      Denver Nuggets- Inside Triangle

Andre Miller got a ton of assists CPU vs. CPU. May be different vs. a user.

      Minnesota Timberwolves- Box

KG (PF)is set in the high post. Sprewell posts up occasionally depending on which play out of the Box set is called.

      Detroit Pistons- Sideline Triangle

Rasheed gets the ball in good spots on the block and Rip is free for jumpers. Billups didn't shoot much from what I saw CPU vs. CPU.

      Houston Rockets- Stagger

No explanation needed here. Yao is inside and TMac simply does his thing when he wants to. The Stagger was made for them.

      Milwaukee Bucks- Motion

Keith Van Horn gets more shots than Michael Redd from what I've seen. *I may change this one.

      Portland Trailblazers- Inside Triangle

Zach Randolph is the man in this offense. The problem with this one is that with Shareef at SF, he sets up high too often. *May change this as well.
      -------------

These are just suggestions from what I've watched. All are subject to change if others see differently. The only one that I consistently saw the CPU get assists from their PG was with Denver running the Inside Triangle. Andre Miller constantly penetrated and dished. Don't know if he would've done the same vs. a human opponent.

Definitely appreciate the feedback. monkey, I'll give that 3/4 court a try as well. BTW, the Press Box camera has been a pleasant suprise. It's the best angle to watch the CPU play because you can see the entire floor zoomed out and the spacing seems so much better than Sideline. Also, you can appreciate the atmosphere a bit more with it. I've even played a half with it and might give it a longer try.

          agree/disagree?
Oh that's definitely the case. Never questioned that.
Each game has difficulty with that though. Plays are non-existant in Live.
In 2K5, you have plays, but they're poorly executed IMO. If a guy is coming of a screen, it should be catch and shoot, no delay. They need to smooth this out next time around.

But the point of this is to get guys in their correct spots and run their offense better. I played against the Heat and Shaq demolished me. I then switched the Heat to a Flex offense and Shaq didn't take one shot in the first quarter. That's a problem.

The goal is to see guys in the position that they are most effective in. You know they'll shoot (because of the Primacy ratings). We just want them to take "their" kind of shots.

Strangely enough, from Steve's videos, MM05 seems to have done this quite well.

Edit: I probably will eventually start to switch the CPU to these sets because I like what I've seen so far. Just have to get them to make more assists.
