Re: anyone insterested in custom mods for Nba 2005?

Now all we need is a DBC editor so that we could make CAPs that have cyberfaces and Mugshots .

also editing the player Name (ex. changing Ben Gordon to mIchael jordan) with just Notepad or hex editor doesnt work The game freezes right at the title screen. damn.

    again, Airkobe. YOU'RE DA MAN!

hit me up once you finish your tools so we could start workin on them xbox patches.

btw, if ur interested in some ssh file samples for the PS2 after workin on the xbox, just let me know. i'll email you a sample for each kind (jersey, bhed , logo)

My friend said he's going to pay you 50 bucks if you could make this one for the Ps2 too. lol
I told him that he has to be ready with it coz i know you can pull it off.

Thanks all for your replies !
For the DBC editing, I have found something really interesting ...
As I said before, I have already worked on a DBC tools for Live 2004 but I had I issue with the savegame that I think is protected by some kind of checksum.
For example if you save twice the same roster then compare it with an hex editor you'll find a lot of difference.
So when I edit the roster on my savegame, I can't load it cause the game told me that the file is corrupted.
So I had the idea this week of editing the default dbc file, the one that is used when you launch the game.

I edited the file with an Hex Tool and changed Ben Gordon's name to Ben Jordan.
I then launched the game and it worked !!
Then I had the possibility to save my roster, so that I have a valid RosterFile with my patched playername.
And of course we can use this file for the patch, you will only have to load the correct roster's savefile.

So as soon as I have a correct tools for texture editing, I will work again on the DBC part.

Just a few week to go, and hopefully we'll had some great mods possibility !

You think you will make the editor able to patch shoes aswell?

makes sense but you really dont need to produce a save at all just edit the files on the disk itslef and let that be that.

Yeah. you have to edit the default database ! you can't edit the save files.

you mean can change names using the hex editor as long as they have the same number of characters ? Coz i replaced Ben with Michael and it didnt work

                                Hi !
Just a quick message to inform you that an Alpha version of the tool is currently in Beta test by 3 "Secret Special Agents"

I'm waiting for their feedback and I will release a BETA version in the next few days.

Since I'll be on road for my job until the end of the week I won't work on the tool during 2/3 days. So don't expected anything until next monday.
(In fact if the alpha version seems good, i will probably release something earlier ... )

                                See you soon
