    Re: Problem

I had the same problem with Madden. Everyone told me that I need to either get a new xbox or open it up and clean the lazer lens. Good luck, I ended up getting both Live and Madden for PS2!

This kept happening ALL the time to my best friend. He had no alternative but to get a new X-BOX.

first which drive do you have? if you have the first one in the picture you are in a world of headaches the 3rd one is the best and you can buy those on the net just do a search as the samsungs work flawlessly.

another alternative which many people do is to take it apart and take a warm damp qtip with water and clean the laser. But if I were you I wouldnt buy a new xbox as the dvd drive is the problem and they can be had cheap.

also on EA games the clock must be set to the correct time and date but im almost 99 percent positive your drive is bad clean it first then replace it if that dont work.

Aww man, where were you when I had this problem. All I got was cold harsh people telling me I'm screwed. I didn't know about the EA clock thing, My Xbox is only 2 years old and would hate to think the drive is bad already. I will look at mine and see which I have.. Even though I didn't start this thread, you have helped me greatly.. Thanks Man!!!

                        Re: Problem

My friend was having this problem for a while going back to NCAA 2004. He put up with it for a while but about a week ago he got like 5 games in a row of Live that he couldn't finish because of DDE's. So he went to EB while his box still loaded games(that's all they check when you trade in a system) and actually got $100 trade in value for it. They give $70 standard, but they were having some kind of bonus deal and he got $30 extra, so he got $100 gift card, took it to another EB and paid the extra $50 for a new box. To him it was worth the price of one game to be able to play through his games without having to worry about it cutting off.

If they start becoming frequent, I would suggest trading in your xbox while you can. I've know a few people who's boxs pretty much exploded and stopped working. The back spit out sparks and smoke started coming out. If you're only having problems with EA games, it's not a big deal if you can stand the errors, because a LOT of people have issues with EA games. But if your other, older games start giving you trouble(like a DDE for a perfectly scratch-free game), then you might be close to completely messing up the system.

If you've got some money to spend, I would recommend going ahead and trading it for the $80 or so it would cost to trade in your box and get a new one, it'll save a lot of headaches and may save you some money if your box is in danger of going completely out of whack.
