fastbreaks are fine in this game. if you dont play d and cpu scores on you, you wont get them, but off of steals and def rebounds, they work great. more realistic.

I have noticed that fast breaking is kinda hit or miss. But not to the point it disrupts the game flow. The number of fastbreak points in the NBA are limited
also, 10pts is a good night. A lot of it depends on how you execute it too.

actually, if the cpu players weren't able to turn on the boost to catch up and get in front of you, fastbreaking in this game would be fine.

that sounds like you are playing 04. in 05 this might occasionally happen, but it is toned way down.i have many fast breaks opportunities in 05 games where def players cannot catch up. also i have seen def players slightly ahead , imitating playing a passing lane (kinda covering your man with the ball and another one of your teammates as you cross half court and he doesnt cover you in time giving you a clear path for a dunk/layup.

this happens to me a lot. I could easily sprint downcourt while the defense just continues to jug to the court and lok as if they just watch me go by without attempting to catch up with me.

                            anyway around this?

So, yes you can run fastbreaks, but it depends on the situation. I think they tried to make it so you cant abuse it. But next year I think they need to add a slider for it so people who like to run alot can.
noticed too. also using a fastbreak team sorta helps but not by much sadly.
