Does the CPU initiate trades?

I've played through a whole season in Franchise and the CPU never offered any trades. Has anybody been offered trades by the CPU? I tried putting players on the trading block but everytime I would come back to the trade screen they would be gone. Is there a way to put players on a trading block?

I don't think there's a trading block like in Madden where you can put your guy out there and people will offer. The thing called "trading block" in Live is just the players you are trying to trade in a specific trade, there isn't a way to let other teams know you want to trade a guy.

I have had the CPU offer me a trade. I forget who they wanted, but the Utah Jazz offered me Eddie Griffin for somebody on my team. I got an e-mail in my PDA about it and I had the chance to review the trade then I could reply with an accept or reject e-mail. It's pretty nice how it's done, but I have only seen it once. It is in the game though, just not very common.

Yeah, it happens occasionaly. They send the trade offer to your pda and you have like 2-3 days to reply...they'll pull the offer if you don't respond soon enough though. I find the pda pretty annoying, I wish they just had a message pop up when you got a trade offer like in last year's game.

Yeah, it happens occasionaly. They send the trade offer to your pda and you have like 2-3 days to reply...they'll pull the offer if you don't respond soon enough though. I find the pda pretty annoying, I wish they just had a message pop up when you got a trade offer like in last year's game.

I simmed a season in Dynasty and the CPU offered me 3 or 4 trades.

How many games at a time did you sim (one game at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time)? I simulated a whole season one month at a time and I never received any trade offers. Do you think I never received any offers because I simulated a whole month and bypassed the 2-3 day grace period to respond?

No, you will still see the trade offers in your pda as long as you don't delete them.

maybe it depends on what team you are? ive yet to get a trade offer with the lakers, and i cant imagine who they would want with talentless people with large salaries... =)
