Steals
Does anybody have some tips on how to steal the ball effectively/consistently each game? I'm only averaging about 2 or 3 a game, which doesn't seem all too realistic to me (or is it? I don't know what the average number is in a real NBA game). Anyways, if you could provide some tips, that'd be very helpful. Thanks.Tags: None -

Yeah I know, I seem to be completely different from everyone else. I can't steal the ball if my life depended on itOriginally posted by Miles_YuhasReally, because on mine i have the User Steal Ability slider down to 12 and the steals are finally not to easy.

Re: Steals
Play the passing lanes and try to intercept the passes that the AI throws. Or you can swipe at the ball if you have the fouls to give. But be careful, because both of these can lead to wide open jumpers for the other team. If nothing else works, then just tweak the steal sliders a bit.Comment

Re: Steals
Yep, as said above. Play the passing lanes and for PS2, you can use the R3 (L and R) to lunge in the lanes for passes. This works pretty well! Or, on longer, or cross court passes, try and get in the way and press square to jump and intercept the pass.Comment

Re: Steals
Thanks for the answers so far. As far as playing the passing lanes, when you said use R3 (L and R), that confused me a bit. Are you referring to the shoulder buttons (L and R) or the right analog stick (R3)?Comment

Re: Steals
You just need a guy with a high steal rating. I'm running a dynasty with the Celtics, Marcus Banks is my starting PG and he has a rating in the 80's...dude can take anything. The comp will usually shield the ball with his body when dribbling. When they face you and leave the ball exposed a high rated guy can take it easily, you just have to time it right.Comment
