I'm gonna start this one. I have had 2 so far. This one is the latest.
So I was playing the defending champs Pistons (Billups et al).
I play as the '96 Bulls,as always (if you follow this forum) .
It was a pretty low scoring game. i was ahead most of the game.But we were playin mostly halfcourt sets.
In the last 2 minutes, i had a 4 point lead over Detroit 87-83. They pressured me and kept doubling the ball handler before I could ever get into our side of the court. I had Kukoc and Kerr on the court just in case (Kukoc as C, Kerr as PG). However, though my shooters were on the floor, i could not get an open guy on the perimeter from all their double teaming and could not pad my lead. The Pistons are able, on the other hand, to cut the deficit to 2 via a jumper from Billups with about a minute to go. Again on my possession, their double-teaming forced me to shoot the ball as time expired.
Holding on to a 2-pt lead. 87-85. A little over 30 secs to go. Said to myself...
Time to play defense...
And I did. I was able to stick to each guy and play each player tight and forced them to take a bad jumper which missed, BUT RASHEED GOT THE OFFENSIVE REBOUND AND TIPPED THE BALL IN!!! dANG, that was big. I said, Why did EA ever invent that tip-in animation?!
now i have to find a way for MJ to get a shot.
6 secs remaining. Again, I had my shooters Kukoc and Kerr in. They have been struggling though. Kukoc, averaging 12.6ppg off the bench for the season, just had 6. Kerr was 0/3 from downtown the whole game (though he has been shooting it at .528 for the season), 0/5 overall
I inbound from my halfcourt. Kerr got in on the left side and passed the ball to Jordan at the top of the key. I had Hunter guarding me (Hamilton was in foul-trouble, for most of the game in fact, trying to guard MJ) I run down the clock. Now which move to make i couldnt think. So i tried to just dribble and dribble and do a nice fade. But I have a bad habit of doing a pump fake before shooting, which i did, but Hunter stood his ground and this caused me to get locked into an animation with Hunter and i just couldn't get a shot off no matter what i do!! With less than 2 secs to go, i just passed the ball to the nearest player, which happenned to be Steve Kerr who was at the left shoulder, and shot the ball from three with Billups hands in front of my face, AND THE SHOT WENT SWISH INTO THE RING!!!
I win 90-87 with a 3pointer at the buzzer They had cut scenes wherein the officials try to review if the shot counted, and it did. It's such a thrill because i never planned for Kerr to take the shot, as i said Kerr was cold the whole game but made the shot that mattered most He finished with 3 pts
