    Open Shots

I'm struggling to get open shots. I can get quite a few open 3 point shots but mid-range shots is a problem. I got the game yesterday and am loving it. The only problem for me is the mid-range game for the human vs. the CPU. I found it ok in starter level but on All-Star I find it much more difficult. Any suggestions? Or do I just need to keep playing it?

Otherwise this is the best basketball game I've played. I had ID2004 last year but I think this is even better. My first game I played against Miami and Shaq absolutely dominated me in the post. That's something I haven't seen enough of in any basketball game. When people say that the "superstars play like superstars" they are telling the truth.

I had that problem and to a certain extent I still do but not as bad as I used to. The good news is that in the NBA it is very hard to get open shots as well, which is why most players miss more shots than they sink.

Anyway, I like to shoot coming off picks. That works sometimes.
Also, if you can score 2 or 3 times off the post, you will get doubled by the AI (very smart). That will leave an open shooter. Another big thing is to catch and shoot immediately. Ever notice in an NBA game, the shooter will pass up a shot because its not perfect, move the ball around, get in better position, receive a pass and shoot right away? Thats the "catch and shoot" and it is sometimes the only good look he'll get.

Bump. We should get this thread going, because I know alot of people who are having problems with mid-range, myself included.

I said this in another thread, but it depends on the sliders you are using.
You may not even be using any, but try putting the CPU 'on ball physical defence' to 10. You could put it to 0, but then you have WAY too much free room its almost like cheating.

this is the solution to getting mid range game. i have lowered my cpu phys def to 15 and it gets your players open briefly, but cpu does recover if you dont shoot it when you have the chance. also try penetrating and when cpu def adjusts pass to open man
