It's time for EA to add authentic play sets to this game...

This is unlikely to happen. From what I understand, the producers at EA Canada are happy with 'Dynamic' and feel that "individual skills" should be the dominant feature of an NBA game...

That may be what makes the SC highlights...but the facts are, the NBA is full of play sets / coaching. Plays to get RIP open in Detroit...plays to get Dirk 3 point shots in Dallas...Iverson goes behind screens all day in Philly...the Kings run a beautiful team offense...the Nets run a real motion set...

LIVE desperately needs this variety IMO.

Dynamic just doesn't cut it anymore. Dynamic is me, you and 8 guys down the gym with a basketball 101 play book. It is nothing like NBA ball.

As stated, it's unlikely EA will change this...

Maybe...with enough support...they might consider it though.

Imagine them getting in Pop, Adelman and LB...and going through teams plays and making each team similar to their real NBA counterpart.

And it can be done if they feel it's needed...

I havent played Live in a while because of that. I am waiting for real playsets. I like Live and if you add reall playsets like MM, it will be great IMO.

It would add so much to the game...


Realistically, in LIVE now, there still is no mid range game. No 'true' mid range game...ie, off screens / guys catching and shooting.

Same with 3 point plays...cpu players get 'bumped' back past the 3 point line and shoot. That's pretty much it for the top of the key area. You NEVER see a guy like Dirk go behind a high pick...appear at the top of the key...and drain a 3 ball.

The game is a nice representation of half court basketball when plays have broken down. ie, clear out and give it to Kobe...or dump it into Shaq.

Live does this really well.

But NBA ball isa hell of a lot more than Iso's and post clear out's...despite what sportscenter may wish everyone to believe.

I think this should be the highlight of every wishlist, we need players running sets where they come of screens and cut the corner for a drive, or come of screens for jumpers etc.

They could even figure it out just watching the teams play on TV.

I agree completely. I am done with Live....I would rather play ID04 or NBA 2k5 with all their bugs than a game that looks and plays nothing like the real NBA. I have really lost faith....the game has not gotten better since Live 2000.
