Re: Top 5 Features NBA LIVE 18 needs to compete again
Hayward is capable of a big year and I like that a video game captures thati t's not the same guys every year. It'd be boring if everyones overall mirrored their stats. There needs to be some guys who progress and regress within reason.
The big thing I want to see is if a guy that's say a 79 overall has a 20+ ppg season then his overall development should reflect that in the next year.
I feel like they only go up or down based on their potential and not their production, which isn't reflective of real life. A guy like Eric Gordon who had a bit of a career resurrection this year is going to jump in overall in '18 compared to '17Last edited by cjacks17; 06-28-2017, 04:28 PM. -
Re: Top 5 Features NBA LIVE 18 needs to compete again
I disagree with the simulation stats. Every year we see guys rise and fall relative to their expectations. Also, there were 31 guys with 20+ PPG this year and in the season you showed there were 33. So it's not that far off.

What I can't get around however is having a team like the LA Clippers go 32-50 with 3 stars (none who were injured or traded). So that's where the simulation system falls shortComment

That's a good point, production based overall development would be an awesome idea, but you can also argue that a player can put up 20ppg and still be mediocre (it's happened quite a few times in the past).

I didn't play Live 16, so maybe I'm being ignorant. I just feel like I like some randomness, but at the same time I do understand how it can make no sense.Comment

Re: Top 5 Features NBA LIVE 18 needs to compete again
This year there shouldn't be a focus to compete with other basketball/sports games. Heck, not even next year either. I think it is important for this year and next to rebuild a strong foundation. Where next year continue to work on gameplay and add to offline modes.
Then by Live 20, maybe they can compete for the #1 basketball gameComment

Focus on making it signature NBA Live so that we have something DIFFERENT. Not just a slightly different 2k. I never really thought about it like that, but I would prefer it.
I'm really excited for Live 18. 2k hasn't really been exciting in a while. The competition is crucial.Comment

Graphically its good so I wont discuss that but in order for live to top 2k they must add...
+More features
+More customization
+Better animation
+More signature animation
+pro-am needs to be 4 quarters

Re: Top 5 Features NBA LIVE 18 needs to compete again
It seems like Live has been monitoring the 2k community pretty closely and building that into their game. For example, "The One" seems to emphasis that it's YOUR journey. It isn't a bunch of cut scenes and a story. It's career mode where you control what you do. I love that part.
I think that's a crucial feature that will help Live stand out.Comment

It's shocking to me how poor the customization has been in 2k. You wouldn't think it'd be that hard to add and it's been being asked for, for years.

It helps to try see what 2k lacks in and try to have it fixed in their game. But like I said before, the goal shouldnt be too match and succeed 2k. It should be to be a strong foundation and building from there. Because 2k is obviously so far ahead with its depth alone, especially in Association. My main thing I'm looking for on season modes is that it doesn't just feel like a set of exhibition games with basic off-season features. The off-season alone in Association is what other sports games standards should be. Just can be a GM and there is enough depth off the court that can fun.
So Live fans just need to be patient. It won't be this year and most likely not next year. But by Live 20, there could be competitionComment

Customization in 2k is poor? Says who? You must've been playing a different game. In 2k you can customize shoes, uniforms, arenas and even upload your own custom team logo that can appear on the court, unis, or in league play. There's even league expansions. Live has yet to implement these features and I doubt they will in Live 18.

I should have been more specific. The player customization is lacking. The face scan was a huge step but other then that it's pretty mediocre

All CPU teams in FIFA, Madden, NHL all plays the same so what makes u think NBA Live will be different? I think it's an EA thing and it's been plaguing their sports franchises for years. I'm with you on this though but I just don't see it happening.
