No. Because Live will be on the shelf next to 2K at some point. Sure, an early window could sway a few people who only buy one game. If the game is exceptionally good I think interest and sales will pick up over the months and 19 could be where they see a decent spike. Live 16 sold worse than Live 14 and 14 was awful. To me, it's vital that Live releases a good fun game. 2K shouldn't even be on their radar at this point. Reestablish Live, first. Build momentum and awareness. Then start looking across the way. Someone used an anology between the Sacramento Kings and beating the Warriors. It fits here, IMO.

I don't think so. I for one am excited to see what the team at EA has done with Live 18 since being away for almost two years working on the game. From what I have seen from videos and reading, they (EA) look like they spent a lot with this years title.

I don't think 2K is on any kind of alert from what Live 18 will be like, if it will give them some competition with basketball titles. 2K will sale more copies than Live 18 and that won't be a surprise. As stated above, re-establish Live. EA has to make an increase on the sales they did not have from 16 and go from there.

I think it will be great to have two basketball titles to compare to, but as of right now, I think the one title (Live 18) is where I am going.

Most definitely they should. Release after or same day is bad for them. Many people will grab the other game n not look back. A week ahead can return reviews and give live the spotlight of positive reviews

They should, if the game is good the rumors will spread and a lot more people will be looking to buy it to try, if you wait for 2K18 and suddenly 2K makes a leap forward then you are ****ed, the huge 2k player base they have is going to get hyped and will not look back at EA again until maybe next year

Yes they should release the demo and the game before 2k. Also their game should be 49.99. That's what 2k used to do when Live was winning. Theyd be the cheaper game.


Also I think Live should have more content available in its demo. It should let you start your MyCareer and play the 5 v 5 mode as much as you want and you should be able to run a game with any team.


Releasing it first helps because I actually bought Live 16 before 2k16 because I got my dude pretty good during the demo and wanted to continue my progress

Live should absolutley release before 2k. Realeasing after would be a mistake because once 2k starts adverstising no one but LiveHeads will play Live, which may not be a bad thing lol. Personally ill buy both BUT Live will be my main game and 2k only when i want to hoop with psn friends (unless i meet as solid a group of ballers on Live?)

They better release it before 2K if they know what's good. I'm just hoping they sell more than 8K the first week. I want this franchise to survive. Even if they didn't add editing (bums).

Nope actually better to WAIT. 2k has moved up it's date earlier and earlier..soon might be before Madden 😁

I say wait because 2k will have a stronger following if you go head to head..but realize ..the first few days people love 2k,then the BUGS show up,and there is a patch..and another..and another.

That gives LIVE time to actually WORK on the game. If we go by trends, 2k out if the gates fast..then the patches come,so there is a great window of opportunity for LIVE to release,while the patches are being made.

2k doesn't have to release anything,they've never cancelled.

LIVE MUST at least give a DEMO that shows us it was worked from the GROUND UP.


If LIVE can show us a GREAT DEMO,I would have another problem WAITING an extra MONTH (October)to get polished.

Without a DEMO LIVE is DOA. I think EA has finally learned their lesson,and we will have 2 amazing games this year.

This is coming from a 2k only,offline player,who probably will never play live because it won't be on the P.C.

I still want LIVE to succeed,and I know deep down,EA can produce a GEM,if they TRULY wanted to.

EA can't sell the game at $59.99 and expect the sales to increase very much. They must swallow their pride and sell it at a reduced price ($39.99,) or the smart thing to do would be to bundle it with Madden, buy Madden 18 and get NBA Live 18 digital code free.
They have to be more creative with getting the game in more people's hand, (the demo is a good idea) because of their bad reputation no matter how good Live 18 is nobody is going to give it a chance at $59.99 next to the 2k juggernaut.

yup! fully agree. maybe not free digital code but pull the nfl2k move and price out at $19.99 for the 1st month of release then $49.99 after.

on the flip side we gotta remember it doesnt cost any VC to play Live. to be competitive in 2k you gotta spend at least $50 on VC. not to mention the $150 version, which a lot folks will buy. i did, then i cancelled because i will buy it used. so even if Live is $60, still cheaper than the $90-$150 youll spend on 2k

I don't think being released before would help, but a reduced price and better & frequent marketing would definitely help. 2K has the advantage of what they currently do because they've been leading for years. If Live were to heavily advertise the game, they could drum up more sales and avoid what happened to Live 16, which was a decent game.

Maybe better if you buy Madden, you can get NBA LIVE digital code for 19.99 with trade-in.

Everyone's ideas are great but cmon how many years is LIVE in the making?And then doing an ad blitz to get the hype...I can't see them doing it less than 59.99

EA is too BIG to be HUMBLE, the them HUMBLE is admitting DEFEAT.

Doesn't Amazon PRIME have a nice perk..like 10% or 15% off when you pre order?? That would be good for people save about $10.

They couldn't release before 2K anyway. NBA mandates the release dates and 2K is there the first day possible.
