Electronic Arts has revealed that NBA Live 18 will feature both the current teams and rosters of the WNBA. Although the Women's National Basketball Association has existed for over 20 years and legends like Lisa Leslie and Sue Bird have appeared in EA's NBA Street, no game has allowed you to play with the full squads of the L.A. Sparks, Dallas Wings, New York Liberty, or any of the other WNBA teams until this year. This follows EA's inclusion of women's teams in the FIFA series, which began with FIFA 16.


NBA Live 18 is scheduled for release on PS4 and Xbox One this fall. A free demo on PS4 and Xbox One is scheduled for release on August 11, 2017 although it won't feature the WNBA content.

Correction: We reported in error that NBA Live 18 is coming out on PC. It is currently planned for release only on Xbox One and PS4.

They retracted the December release date and the PC mention. It was a mistake by the author -- I'm sure, in the rush to break the news, he did minimal research.

Oh well -- at least the WNBA gets some well-deserved recognition. The comments on the original Gamespot article are trash -- guys just joking on the WNBA like it's a YMCA league. Those ladies can play, it's good that they'll be granted wider exposure this way.

For a "progressive" league, the NBA sure has been lax in promoting the WNBA outside of the actual games itself.

It's good for WNBA and for NBA Live.

NBA LIVE is trending on Twitter because of it. ESPN, wnba, sports illustrated, etc have all written pieces about this today. Huge exposure. But they aren't capitalizing since you still can't preorder. It kills me.

Also, for what it's worth, the wnba game feels completely different than the NBA counterpart.

Marketing Gimmick??? Had me searching..and posting and not even a LIVE fan. So it worked, I agree trending on Twitter is major to attract tons of viewers.

(I)Cut people some slack on this one.I mean you got Gamespot and a few other sites (obviously they just copied Gamespot) saying December.

Logic leaves sometimes when the company does have a history of doing this,but yes logic said Demo August 11th, release date 4 months later.

Didn't smell right..but it WAS posted by Gamespot and other outlets when you googled it.

Just happy for LIVE fans it's being released..two titles to choose from now.

Again coming from a 2k player only.

Of course it's common sense. If they release a demo next week, why would they delay it until December? Reasonable doubt. Take things with a grain of salt. Blah, blah, blah. I'm stupid and ignorant. Now everything is fine.
