It's kinda like Adidas(live) and Nike(2k). Both put out quality but more people gravitate to Nike because of the name now.

Honestly it's not like that at all. I get what you're trying to say, but Live is not in a hole just because of name.

It is now due to mostly the name. Costly previous titles haven't helped the cause either. The other game has grown to the heights of FPS games in regards of sales. Many people now buy that game based on name alone without playing any previous titles

That's a part of it but that's nowhere near the biggest reason. The biggest reason is the fact that in the past 6 years alone they've cancelled 4 different releases(Elite 11, Live 12, Live 13, & Live 17) and one of the releases was god awful (Live 14). THAT is the reason things are even more lopsided in 2k's favor. They were already growing the last time Live was still consistent with Live 10 (2k10 was the first year I really noticed a sizeable shift to mainstream for them). Throw in there was no other games from EA until Live 14, 2k took over. It didn't hurt that they had 2k11 and 2k12 (with the classic team stuff) back to back. Then next gen came for 2014 and everyone saw the graphics and story mode and it became a phenomenon.

Honestly, if I had to guess, I think this forum will grow to maybe 150 users at one time. Meanwhile the 2k forum will still have it's 300+. In addition to that, I'm sure 2k will unveil something substantial (like a gameplay video) to dampen any possible buzz Live's demo produces.

Hopefully the demo impresses a good deal of people in this somewhat niche/enthusiast sports gaming forum; that might bode well for the casual gaming public's response to the game.

If I can make trades and edit players (stats/accessories) at some point, you have me at hello. Really am impressed with The One, I want to be impressed with everything else.

I am genuinely surprised at how much I like the way Live feels this year. I haven't bought a Live game ever -- been 2K since their Day 1. But Live is highly likely to get a buy from me this year for The One mode alone (the NBA Street vibe is a big plus for me).

Glad to hear trekfan. The more Live voices we have here on the board, the better. I try to represent us when I'm down, but we have been small in numbers and thoughts (sans Crunky lol). The more ideas, thoughts, criticisms from the board, the better.
